    South Africa is known worldwide for making crowd-pleasing and award-winning wines. This half-day Winelands tour will take you to the cradle of this beautiful wine region. Your guide will share with you the story of how the South African wine industry came to be. Learn how the foundation was set by refugees from France. Applying their skills with immediate success in Stellenbosch they ultimately transformed the region into the center of the South African wine industry. You will begin your morning or afternoon tour with complimentary pick-up from your Cape Town hotel before being taken to Stellenbosch Wine Estate. There you will do a wine tasting, as well as a wine and cheese tasting. After, you will be taken on a guided tour of the charming town of Stellenbosch. It will highlight historical Dorp Street and DeBraak. Your next wine experience will be a guided cellar tour where you will take in the ambiance created by enumerable amounts of soon-to-be-wine ageing in barrels and tanks. You will then do a second wine tasting.

    When you have had your fill of touring and tasting you will have the chance to purchase the wine you have tasted and more.

    Tour guide was phenomal. He was very knowledgable about the city and areas keeping us entertained on route to the farms. The farms were immaculate and we were treated to pairings with cheese and the second farm was with Biltong. Much larger selection of wines were presented for tasting than we expected. Friendly staff, would do it again. A must for a visit to Cape Town. Great value for money

    Great tour guide and tour but if late for pickup you should be left

    Our tour was delayed by over 30 minutes because we waited for a couple in front of their hotel for pick up. As a result, we not only had to sit in a car waiting but our tour was also cut short. Our tour guide, Denver, did an excellent job in accommodating and trying to get us back on track but it was unfair that we and the rest of the guest were impacted by the 2 late guest. My suggestion would be to give people a 10 minute grace period and if they are not ready for pick up, they get left. This should be a common practice.

    Highly appreciated the professionalism of Isidore at African Eagle Day Tours. Although we booked our trip just 12 hours in advance (the night before), we were able to call the tour company day-of and find out our specific pickup time and confirm that we were good to go. We actually drank a little less wine than I would've expected, and we did not do one of the tastings mentioned (wine and biltong pairing), but we got a wine tram experience instead, which we enjoyed quite a bit.
