Delve deep underground to the magical Cango Caves’ limestone chambers, alive with drip formation stalactites and stalagmites and remnants of Khoikhoi paintings. Opt for the easy-going guided Heritage Tour to test the cave’s acoustics and gain insights about the dripstone evolution. By contrast, the Adventure Tour allows would-be contortionists to squeeze, twist and wiggle their way through limestone chimneys on a rather more daring under...

Our tour guide Gerhard Pretorius gave us lots of interesting information about the areas we travelled through. He was very carefully planning our days, arranging restaurant visits, tour activities and re-confirming accommodation. He kept everyone well informed about the schedule. Our group was getting along very well with each other so all of us had dinner together with the tour guide every night. The restaurants proposed by the tour guide were all excellent and very special. Most likely, someone travelling individually on the Garden Route would not find these nice places. Since this was a combination of Garden Route and Wine Tour, we changed bus and tour guide in Stellenbosch. Our new tour guide Moudi and the new group were also very pleasant and again we all had a good time having dinner together. All the activities were exactly as advertised and we enjoyed them very much.

What people are saying about Cango Caves

The tour really helps you to make the most out of your time if you have about at least a week in South Africa and are starting your journey in Cape Town. Our guide Christine was simply the best, telling us all details about every single thing during the whole tour and always caring to accommodate everyone's specific preferences and needs. She helped us in planning our onward trip and was always making sure we got the best pictures at every stop. This trip has a lot of flexibility in terms of accommodation type and optional activities, which makes it a great option for different kinds of travelers. However, it also offers great opportunities for everyone to bond together, like trying local food at special dinners especially prepared for the group. We definitely recommend this tour and Earthstompers, as it is a really professional agency.
