Be fitted with top-of-the-line gear and transported to the starting point of the rafting experience. Receive a thorough safety briefing before setting off on the river. From there, depart on a short 15-minute drive to the trailhead.  Explore the narrow-walled creek bed which twists and turns for many kilometers. Whitewater rafting is the ultimate summer activity, and the Kicking Horse River is the best river in the Canadian Rockies. This is your chance to take a heart-pumping ride through these Class IV rapids on Kicking Horse River, throughout a wet-and-wild half-day excursion. Meet at the Kicking Horse River Base site in Golden, approximately 1.5 hours west of Banff. Before you jump in the boat, you will meet your river guides and get outfitted with all the necessary rafting gear. From there, you will head out on to the river, starting with a relatively calm stretch to allow you to become acquainted with your guides’ commands, your paddle, and your boat. Soon the canyon narrows and the true excitement begins, taking you on a pulse-pounding trip through the thrills and spills of the river’s Class IV white water. You will eventually finish your rafting odyssey 12 miles (20 kilometers) downstream, where you’ll disembark the raft. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or just looking for a fun way to cool off, this rafting trip is sure to please.

Start the day at the base with a hearty hot buffet that might include stew, chili or soup with freshly made bread, dessert and a side salad, veggies or fruit. Then, embark on your helicopter flight over Abraham Lake. Fly over the Canadian Rockies to Landslide Lake for breathtaking views and an experience you will never forget. Admire the impressive fierceness of the massive mountains as you fly close to them. Pass over 6 different astonishing glaciers surrounded by frozen lakes and waterfalls.  After landing at Landslide Lake, go on a guided snowshoe tour with complimentary hot chocolate and Irish cream. Then, head back to base by Helicopter taking a different route back with equally spectacular views of the Rockies and valleys. When you return to base, take a seat around a fire to warm up your toes. 6. Kicking Horse River: Whitewater Rafting Trip with BBQ

Set off on the famous Kicking Horse River for a genuine Rocky Mountain whitewater rafting experience. The 5-hour trip (2.5-hours on the river) combines all the best the river has to offer: bouncy and splashy waves, calm and scenic float sections, and big whitewater rapids.  Check in at the local partner's base, conveniently located on TransCanada Highway #1, and change into your top-of-the-line gear, which is provided. Transfer then to the rafting start point and, following a thorough safety briefing, it will be time to get on the river. Begin on the upper, more gentle, scenic section of the Yoho National Park. For approximately 1-hour, enjoy splashing through the waves as you warm up for the more intense sections downstream. The second half of the trip, taking approximately 1.5 hours, is made up of 14 sets of rapids ranging from Class 2 to Class 4+. Expect to get soaked during this section! After rafting, transfer back to the base to enjoy the warmth of the DayLodge and heated change rooms. Once back in warm, dry clothes, enjoy a delicious gourmet BBQ lunch.

After meeting at the ranch at 9 AM, you will be transported to a private tenure, where you will get a taste of mountain riding at it's best. Under the guidance of our knowledgeable and friendly guides, climb steep, well-maintained mountain trails to scenic viewpoints. Walk along a beautiful woodland trail and step quietly through the mystical Enchanted Forest. Appreciate the serenity and agility of your sure-footed mountain horse, as it takes you through open spaces and single track trails, gaining some 1500 feet of elevation. Stop for lunch at a scenic lunch spot, to get a short rest before being picked up to return to the ranch by about 2:30 PM.
