Full description

Wander along the 8-kilometer path of the Caminito del Rey in Malaga province with this entry ticket. The path, which was once considered the most dangerous in the world, has now been restored and is completely safe, but retains the 100-meter-high walkways that make it so popular with hikers.

Fall in love with the breathtaking cliff faces and the fascinating history of the path. Reach highs of 400 meters above ground and lows of just 10 meters. Watch as the wild waters of the Guadalhorce river rush below you. The path was originally formed as a railway track in the 19th century. Declared by the Junta de Andalucía as a Natural Area in 1989, it had already been classified as a Special Protection Area for Birds in 1987 and, since 2006, it is part of the Andalusia-Morocco Intercontinental Biosphere Reserve of the Mediterranean. The site has been added to the list of Places of Community Importance in the Mediterranean Biogeographic Region.

Great walk, if your not afraid of heights! The quoted distance is not entirely correct, as you have allow any distance to travel to and from your vehicle if not on a coach trip, the carparking areas do get busy. There are lots of steps some steeper than others and it was obviously quite steep in some places. I did the walk alone as the group bookings were full but this allowed me to go at my own pace to take in the stunning scenery. Overall a great walk that I would like to do again in the future.

Really a great experience walking at your own pace and enjoying the great scenery. We felt the only negative for us was a small one which was a lack of signage near the end of the walk to indicate how far to go and how far to the bus. A great attraction!!.

A must do activity, spectacular, breathtaking, exhilarating. The bridge at the end is not a solid bridge as per the picture, more of a kind of rope bridge We opted for the no guide option which has pros and cons. Pros: you get to walk at your own pace and away from the large groups so its a bit more zen and at one with the nature. Cons: some of the guides did sound excellent and were passionate about the flora and fauna and general geology and history of the area so we missed out on learning that. NB - you cannot drive to the entrance. You have to park (either on the road or in the carpark) then Walk 20 minutes to the gorge entrance where you show your ticket and get a hard hat. This wasn’t explained anywhere (either in emails or on boards at the location), and there are very few signs telling you where to go so give yourself time to work it out - i think thats why you are aksed to arrive an hour early.. You do also then have to queue/wait when you get to the start.
