From Tropea: Day Tour to the Aeolian Islands

1. From Tropea: Day Tour to the Aeolian Islands

Visit 3 of the most beautiful Aeolian Islands on this day tour from Tropea. Climb aboard the comfortable excursion boat to start your adventure. Your first destination is Vulkano, the southernmost island whose sulphur baths are known for their medicinal properties. Spend 90 minutes on the island and explore it as you wish before continuing on the tour. On the largest Aeolian Island of Lipari, you can enjoy the sight of colorful fishing boats in the harbor and admire the views of the city. The castle towers high above the town, and the streets on either side are decorated with flowers of the Marina Corta and Marina Lunga districts. Further inland you will find caper bushes, pumice stone mines, and fantastic viewpoints. You have the option of taking a bus tour or exploring the island on your own. Afterward, you will head to the volcanic island of Stromboli with one of the highest volcanoes in Europe. Watch the fantastic eruptions with plumes of smoke and let yourself be drawn under the spell of this natural spectacle. Visit the village of San Vincenzo, which attracted Ingrid Bergman and Rossellini. Stroll through the small boutiques and souvenir shops, enjoy an “aperitivo”, or bathe in the crystal-clear water.

From Tropea: Stromboli, Panarea, Lipari Guided Day Tour

2. From Tropea: Stromboli, Panarea, Lipari Guided Day Tour

The Aeolian Islands are natural wonders to be discovered and the best way to do it is undoubtedly by boat. Take part in a mini-cruise to the Aeolian Islands to get an overview of these splendid islands, each one different from the others, and in just one day, you will be able to grasp the peculiarities of each island. Wind and sun have forged the character and identity of the islanders. A sea still full of fish and clean, caves and very high cliffs, stacks, and beaches with fine black sand, solfataras and mountains of white pumice, and all the charm of the island's environments. Despite the vicissitudes of history and the changes imposed by the modern world, this identity has survived with its customs and traditions. The archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, north of the Sicilian coast, in the province of Messina, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. Seven islands of volcanic origin some of which there is still a fair amount of volcanic activity. The largest island is Lipari, followed by Salina. The smallest, Panarea, is also the most exclusive island, preferred by VIPs. Stromboli, thanks to the intense volcanic activity of "Iddu" has seen a strong increase in tourism in recent years. Vulcano remains a very popular island both for the spa and for the tourist attractions. Finally, Filicudi and Alicudi, west of the archipelago and close to Palermo, are the islands for lovers of nature and tranquility. Alicudi does not circulate vehicles and is characterized by a wild and uncontaminated territory, ideal for a perfect Sicilian mix of beach holidays and trekking.

Booking the tour was easy, and everything went well on site in the port. Super friendly staff on board. The tour guide also translated everything very well into German. Stromboli and Lipari are beautiful islands to look at, shop, eat and swim (only Stromboli, you can't go swimming on Lipari), a small damper was missed because the sulfur thermal baths on Vulkano are closed indefinitely. The entire facility is cordoned off looks awful and smells awful (worse than our first visit). Unfortunately, on this island you have the feeling that only the money of the tourists is being pulled out. But all in all absolutely worth a visit. The black beaches have something for themselves. We really enjoyed the tour.

Fantastic experience, if you have never seen the Aeolian Islands, this experience is for you! We had time and space at our disposal, to be able to taste all the experiences that the islands could give us. The captain who led the ship "sciara del fuoco" of 09.08 was wonderful and a fantastic guide .. explanation and presentation of each island worthy of a tour, we really want to listen to him .. in fact we thank you for the wonderful experience that me and my boy we can in the heart!

tour well organized, respect the times and the guide by exhaustive explanations. the optional tour from Lipari to the coasts is interesting. Well done

Fascinating day spent among the beauties of the Aeolian Islands, made even more beautiful by the precious explanations of the commander Mirko.
