Full description

Journey to the heart of the pharaohs' civilization in an air-conditioned car that will pick you up from your hotel. Arrive in style at Tahrir Square in front of the Egyptian Museum, a majestic building constructed in 1902. The ground floor contains colossal statues spanning thousands of years, arranged in chronological order. Take an informative and enlightening tour of the upper floor, marveling at smaller statues, fossils, paintings, sarcophagi and ancient Egypt maps.

Learn about Waziri Papyrus I, the famous Tut-Ench-Amun, who also has an exclusive section in the museum. Marvel at the first and largest papyrus in hieratic script, darting back to the beginning of the Ptolemaic era (300 BC). Before returning to your hotel stop by the vibrant colored market. The shops and bazaars display and sell a dizzying array of trinkets and artworks, giving you the chance to take home a small piece of Egyptian culture and civilization. Buy souvenirs for your friends or simply meander around the bustling shops. Your guide will then drop you off at your hotel in Cairo.

Overall good experience, the guide Mohammed 1st was nice and with great humour. It was a bit expensive for only visiting a museum and a street full of little shops. We learned a lot with the guide and the museum was interesting (more like a storage space), so many things to see! Be aware that they are opening new museums in Cairo where they are moving most of the artifacts!

Gamel was a great guide, knowledgeable and friendly. He explained about the many artefacts in the Museum. He took us on a private Felucca ride (extra charge) and also to a perfume shop where we spent around 45 minutes. My only regret was that we had only an hour at the Khan Al Khalili market (people were getting ready for Iftaar as it was Ramadan). We had NO option for WiFi during the trip even though I had paid extra for it.

Amazing experience. Gabri is a superb guide. He gave thorough explanation of everything. He was so friendly. Five star service. Everyone enjoyed the tour. Egypt Museum is a must visit for any tourist. You can see the ancient mommies. The bazar is a great place to buy cheap souvenirs. I highly recommend this tour
