Madeira: 2-Hour Dolphin & Whale Watching Tour

1. Madeira: 2-Hour Dolphin & Whale Watching Tour

The waters of Madeira island are very rich in cetaceans - including 29 different species. On this boat trip you head towards Cabo Girão, which is the second highest sea cliff in the world. On the way there, you will see dolphins and whales. The crew will stop the boat for about 20 minutes so you may enjoy a swim in the ocean, if conditions allow. On the way back, you will sail closer to land in order to enjoy the view while listening to interesting information from your guide. As the boat is smaller than other boats you may find on Madeira Island, this allows for the animals to get very close to you. Your certified guide is an expert who can explain everything you need to know about the sighted sea life. The company also provides a photo report of your trip, bottled water, and raincoats. The trip is run with a maximum of 10 people and a minimum of 2, so you get a more personalized experience.

We met the guides 1/4 hour before the trip and then walked to the speedboat together. After a short briefing, we were off. With speed and fast corners we went out to sea. After a short drive we already met the first school of dolphins. There were females with babies. Shortly afterwards we were also lucky that a group of male dolphins came towards us. We had several stops afterwards and were always able to admire these wonderful marine mammals. Our guide was super friendly and gave us a lot of information about the sea creatures. In addition, there was also a sightseeing tour and a fast and fun return trip included :-)

We especially enjoyed the 4x4 tour. Our guide Rui had a number of anecdotes to tell along the way and always reported exciting information about the history of Madeira. There were two of us in a group of 8 and everything was really good. The wine tour was also short and exciting, only the Cabo Girao is unfortunately a bit overcrowded. Of course they can't do anything about that. We didn't get to swim on the catamaran tour, but we did see two whales, which was majestic. Thank you very much for this beautiful day.

The tour was an adventure day that left nothing to be desired! After picking you up at the hotel and visiting the Madeira Skywalk, the off-road tour, wine tasting and whale watching were still waiting for us. All great promotions. We liked the off-road tour through the Jurrasic Park-like forests and gorges with subsequent wine tasting at the winery best. The catamaran tour was interesting and provided a unique view of two whales. The boat tour was a bit too long for our taste.

Such a great trip with a wonderful small group of people and the guid did an awesome job !!

Superb day out. Excellent guide. Great way to see the area around Funchal
