Koombana Bay: Dolphin Eco Cruise

1. Koombana Bay: Dolphin Eco Cruise

Take an exciting Dolphin Eco Cruise for 90 minutes at the Discovery Centre. The vessel provides an excellent viewing platform designed to get you as close as possible to the dolphins, without getting your feet wet. The team will introduce you to the local Bottlenose Dolphins as they interact in their natural environment. Many of the dolphins seen on the cruise call Koombana Bay their home. They can be seen frolicking, playing, sleeping, and feeding during the cruise. The informative commentary from the skipper will keep you updated throughout.

Bunbury: Swim with Dolphins Tour

2. Bunbury: Swim with Dolphins Tour

On this tour, you are given the opportunity to swim with the wild Bottlenose Dolphins in their own environment. Accompanied by an experienced guide and trained volunteers you will venture into the open waters of Koombana Bay. Depending on dolphin sightings you will be guided into the water where the dolphins may elect to initiate interaction with the swimmers. As they are wild dolphins, interaction cannot be guaranteed.

Augusta: Whale Watching Tour

3. Augusta: Whale Watching Tour

Step on board and cruise Flinders Bay in style on board the Alison Maree, the sturdiest charter vessel in the South West. Everyone is treated as a VIP on board the vessel with complimentary access available to the Skippers lounge. Listen to old folk stories from Skipper Dundee or Jamie or head down the front of the vessel and learn the history and movements of the whales from the experienced on board Marine Biologist, ask them as many questions as you like. Enjoy a morning or afternoon tea consisting of a hot drink or water and help yourself to some biscuits. With a 99% success sighting rating, you are almost 100% guaranteed to see whales on your tour, if not you can join a tour again for free. The tours are family friendly and suitable for all ages. On average it takes about 7 minutes from departing the Marina until whales are sighted, with over 35000 Humpbacks migrating, binoculars aren't required, there's plenty to see. The cruise goes for approximately 2 hours in the sheltered waters of Flinders Bay, Augusta which is a resting place for the whales whilst on their northern migration. Quite often sighted here is the Southern Right whale - always amazing to see as they were once almost extinct from being hunted back in the whaling days, and due to their gestation period their populations haven't quite recovered as well as the Humpbacks.

Kathy and her volunteers gave us all a great morning out in the water. We were promised lots of dolphins and that promise was delivered on. It was amazing to be floating there while 7 dolphins ambled by underneath me.

Well, it was WOW, what an experience to swim with the wild dolphins in the Bay. Kathy our guide was great, funny but also very knowledgeable. Learnt a lot and had a great and very memorable experience.

Great experience and great team. Our leader Kathy is passionate about dolphins, aka her family and that was reflected during our trip
