Buenos Aires: Folklore Show with Pickup and Appetizer

3. Buenos Aires: Folklore Show with Pickup and Appetizer

200 years ago, long before Tango landed in Buenos Aires, there was a cultural explosion in Santiago del Estero, a northern Argentine province. The crossing of Spanish colonizers with the native peoples of the area gave rise to this new cultural dna, today known as the folklore of Santiago del Estero. In this arid land of infernal temperatures, new rhythms and songs took root, always running according to the dancers. That is why a zamba, chacarera, gatito, malambo and carnavalito are dances that respect ancestral musical structures. In "Buenos Aires, more than Tango" you will have the chance to learn the story of "Los Abalos", 5 brothers born in Santiago del Estero. They were the first to bring this culture to Buenos Aires back in 1940 where Tango was the musical star. They were a unique case in the world of 5 brothers who played together for 60 years! With "Buenos Aires, more than Tango" and by the hand of Juan Gigena Abalos, grandson of Machingo, the eldest of the Abalos Brothers, you will have the chance to listen and enjoy "Gauchos of the Pampa" who recreate from their own and personal interpretation of this Argentine folklore with the repertoire of incredible and emblematic, "Hermanos Abalos". During the show you will be able to enjoy a glass of wine and some delicious empanadas, typical food from northern Argentina, and delight yourself with a rich dulce de leche pancake. A unique and autochthonous event where you will be moved knowing the history of Argentine Folklore and the famous Abalos brothers. You will not regret it!

The evening had a slow start but once we got into the Theater, the ambiance was amazing. After initially being seated we got a Tango lesson that was quite fun. The dinner was very good as the steak was perfect. The performance was a great representation of both traditional and modern tango. I highly recommend.

Great experience, totally recommended. We only saw the show, a little bit far (if you have a meal as well you'll be closer) but good enough! We had a fairly priced glass of wine, and ate before on corrientes Avenue. Very nice

Dinner was good - a lot of food and ample drink. The show was great! The dancers and musicians performed with energy and emotion. Frankly, even better than I was expecting.

The show is very impactful and holds your eyes in every detail. Very good from the musicians to the dancers and the entire team that collaborate with the show.

Excellent show. Enjoyed every bit and the dinner with Malbec wine.
