  • London: The Changing of the Guard Experience

    7. London: The Changing of the Guard Experience

The changing of the guards is definitely something that should be experienced when visiting London. On this tour, your guide will explain to you how the changing of the guard, also known as "Guard Mounting", has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in London. You will see how the soldiers in place are “relieved” of their position in a very particular way, while accompanied by a military fanfare. The soldiers have protected the King or Queen of England since the reign of Henry VII, who established the Royal Body Guard as a permanent institution. The tradition has since continued for more than 500 years. All of the guards are dressed in a traditional red tunic partnered with an easily recognizable bearskin helmet. The music that accompanies the changing of the guard can be either military or more contemporary, an attraction that is not to be missed.

That was to celebrate my son's 12th birthday. We enjoyed exploring London. Cruise on Thames with fantastic commentary of captains. Good facilities, nice and clean. The only thing, we had not enough time to finish all activities in on day. Bus stop running at about 5pm, not enough for us but i am planing to take another tour soon. Is worth of money. Thank you to all nice tootbus and city cruise staff. Very up lifting after spending time in lockdowns. Thank you, my son really enjoyed it.

Just wanted to write and thank you and Mike for a fantastic tour on Friday. My children and I had a great time. Mike was informative, friendly and entertaining, and made the day really fun for all of us. I have recommended you to my friends and will certainly look to book another tour with you in the future. Please pass on my thanks and positive feedback to Mike.

Superb tour which I would highly recommend for anyone interested in sight seeing. You don’t have to be a confident cyclist to enjoy the tour as much of the route is on cycle paths. Our guide Patrick was friendly, informative and funny.

Very nice tour and very clear also they are helpful when you need. But it should tell on the bus stop the time table to know how long we will wait for the next one.

It was great, easy, informative and easy to find them.
