Bucharest: Guided Ceausescu Villa Tour

1. Bucharest: Guided Ceausescu Villa Tour

Once having arrived in front of the Villa, your staff member will take over. Your tour begins with the dictator's private office, followed by the chess room. Following that, stroll through the villa admiring the bedrooms, family dining room, and the relaxation table. Heading upstairs, encounter another set of bedrooms which belonged to the Ceasescu couple, before you move on to the green house which houses a recreated tropical climate. This climate allows the cultivation of exotic fruits such as bananas and pineapples, including many other fruits which are not indigenous to the country. The owner of the villa was a big fan of exotic birds, which is why the garden was populated by peacocks. Last but not the least, visit the indoor pool, a work which took months to complete. The pool is decorated entirely in blue mosaic and contains flower and animal themes which are reminiscent of those from Ancient Rome. Discover all of this, squeezed into just one house that was far from people eyes. It was a house a where a dictator's family was living the high life, as the rest of the population were starving.

If you are looking for a day of adventure to cut yourself off from the stress of everyday life, we have put together for you a one-day tour of the Bran Castle, followed by several other important sites worthy of your attention. Here is an overview of our private tour, highlighting the main tourist attractions we will be visiting: 1. PELES CASTLE If have decided to write your memoirs or you want to brag about having seen the most beautiful castles in Europe, the Romanian royal family’s summer residence is, by far, one of the most important tourist attractions in Romania and in Europe, and you will soon understand why. Every year, thousands of important figures and hundreds of thousands of tourists book tours of Romania for this attraction alone, to admire its beauty and at least for a few hours, feel like royalty. 2. BRAN/ DRACULA’S CASTLE Step inside if you dare! We Romanians are often amused that 80% of the hundreds of thousands of tourists that book Tours of Romania and come from across the globe to see the Castle of Dracula, or more accurately, the Bran Castle, leave with their history lesson learned and forget about Bram Stoker’s fiction. Once you see it in person, you will understand why this castle is a symbol of Romanian tourism and why it is the most visited tourist attraction in Romania. 3. BRASOV CITY TOUR Are you looking for a different urban experience through which you can explore the history, and culture, and rediscover the beauty of nature, all at the same time? The city of Brasov is the ideal destination for lovers of history, music, culture, adventure, good food, winter sports, hunting, hiking, and even romance. It is the quintessential mountain adventure. We guarantee that the Brasov tour will be the high point of your trip –literally. Even though its average altitude is 625 meters, because its structure includes the Postavaru Peak, it is the highest city in Romania. Another thing that makes this tourist destination unique is that Brasov is the only city in the world that contains a natural reservation, the one on mount Tampa.

What people are saying about Bucharest

Super amazing experience ! Our tuk tuk guide/ driver Valentin made our last min spontaneous decision worth a while. genius idea to drive around main attractions by only one tuk tuk in Romania and have a stop for magnificent pictures. And he has honestly great eye to catch best pictures you could wish for. He is Knowledgeable, spot on for facts and very interesting to listen. He also recommended us to go certain restaurants to make sure we will taste local food. He introduced us the water harmony show. And the roof top places for sunset cocktails. And brought us to the coolest bar in heart of down. When I was booking the tour I thought it was very short time , but honestly it was exactly enough time to fit the beauty from Bucharest to our eyes and hands. I Would highly recommend his service as we got to see Bucharest so much. thanks for this last min tour. Thanks for Valentin that our memory from capital of Romania is incredible!!! Thank you !

This is a brilliant tour option for anyone who wants to get the most out of a day in Transylvania from Bucharest! We started the day at 7 and had a full day of activities across the sanctuary, castle and Brasov. We had the most amazing tour guide in Dan who was so friendly and answered all of our questions and told us everything we needed to know about the area! Dan truly is an asset to the company and made us feel so at home with him. Nicolas was also great, calling us shortly after our booking to give us all the extra details of the day ahead. Really fantastic day and couldn’t have asked for anything more. Dan even gave us great recommendations on food to eat and and places to visit in Bucharest for the rest of our trip! Thank you for a great tour and we would highly recommend to anyone!! No other tour options like this in the area.

Very exciting to walk in Ceausescu's living rooms, but also frightening with opulence when you thought that the population outside was so poor. Super good and funny guide who told vividly about the different rooms.

Nicolas was a fantastic host, very knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble for him. Would highly recommend.

Perfect day. Andreï is a great guide... attentive, friendly, competent. Recommended without hesitation.
