Full description
This 2-day tour provides you with the opportunity to discover the natural wonders of the Danube Delta. This is the 2nd-largest river delta in Europe and is comprised largely of wetlands and water, and intricate patterns of channels, marshes, small streams, and lakes. The Danube Delta is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is home to more than 300 species of birds and 45 species of fresh-water fish that inhabit its numerous lakes and marshes. You’ll have the chance to visit Tulcea, the ancient port city located on the Danube Delta, and enjoy a boating trip for bird watching or fishing. The city of Tulcea spreads over 7 hills and has been an important harbor since its founding in the 7th century B.C. It was later conquered by the Romans and rebuilt in their style. You’ll spend 1 night at a Danube Delta hotel or guest house. Itinerary Day 1: Bucharest – Constanta – Tulcea – Danube Delta Day 2: Danube Delta – Tulcea – Bucharest

Awesome Great Guide!

Gabriel was wonderful!! So knowledgeable and friendly, was even great about our last minute changes we made. Danube Delta tour was ok-stayed at a really nice resort -great pool- but the boat tour was not the best. Would have liked an early morning tour to see more animals and a smaller boat for 2-4 people. When we booked we thought we would be on a more private boat tour organized by the agency but it was a larger boat tour (25 person boat) through the resort which we didn't love but the locals we were with were great! Our favorite part was our guide though!! He kept a steady stream of immense knowledge about all of Romania. Was do nice to hear the pride in his voice about his country .

All was planned for my utmost enjoyment .

my guide, Gabriel , was extremely knowledgable. He procured a small boat with a driver/naturalist who knew how to get the best views on the Danube. The accommodations were great.
