The Brussels 3-Hour Art Nouveau Tour was incredibly informative and a delightful opportunity to see parts of Brussels that I'd not seen. Mary or Marie was the guide, suffused with a clear passion for her subject, showing up ready to deep dive into design by narrating stories of the buildings and their architectural creators, providing photographic examples of the insides of the gems whose outsides we observed, and fielding questions that ranged across time and geography. I've had a number of excellent tours in the recent past, yet Mary was one of the best prepared of the host facilitators. She had me when she started out by setting forth the goals for us that she had by the journey's end. And she succeeded: I left confident I can spot the characteristics of architectural Art Nouveau, and I understand how it differs from other periods, including how it differs from its temporal-adjacent sibling--Art Deco.

It was wonderful and very informative. The guide was passionate, tring to give us all the interessent stroies behind the buildings without any waste of time. The explanation was also not about “just listening and nodding”, but was very interactive and even funny with small jokes:) Personally, I think this guide tour is better than Horta museum!

All uphill to start and very little art nouveau but picks up after about an hour. Not being able to see inside any of the houses is frustrating but people should be referred to a website like inside art nouveau which gives you some pictures in and out for various houses. It would be better if you based your walkson different areas like in the art nouveau guide you can buy in the Horta Museum.
