Food tour highlites mini veggie sticks immersed in a saffron sauce covered in a mozzarella mound, a pizza delight. Next stop the fish market pass tray of dried smoked salmon morsels marinated in teriyaki, maple syrup and lathered in hot spices. We meandered over to the wine bar for a cab sav and merlot tasting then we exited the building to view pictures and tablets of yesterday’s shipbuilders. Up the street to the ice creamery a fav in the area...notice the veggie boxes along the way...easy pickings! Final stroll to the art wall for a quick pic with the family to remember our visit. The sweetest surprise was the aroma emanating from the warm bun shop...the buns are filled with coconut, chocolate and maple syrup. It’s a must stop and my favorite. Add another experience by taking the Seabus from downtown Vancouver to North Vancouver. The Shipyard tour is appealing to all ages, offers variety, shipyard history, and a tasting of the areas foods.
Not only do you get to eat some great food and try great local beer and wine in some excellent establishments but you also get to learn a whole lot about the history of Vancouver. Tour guide Brent was excellent with his knowledge of the food, and history he also explained everything so well and is an excellent story teller. Highly recommended!! Word of warning don’t eat before this tour and if your planning dinner after it plan it to be a later dinner. I was full as a boot by the end!
Tour guide Brent brought us to multiple different locations where we were given tasting portions of a variety of foods, beverages and desserts. Along with the historical anecdotes, this tour was both informative and delicious. 10/10 would recommend.
Our guide Sean was friendly, entertaining knowledgeable & we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We were full & foods were yummy. Will definitely go it again with family & friends the next time we visit rainy Vancouver
We come from a wine country (central California), so it was fun and interesting learning about the different grapes and climate. A pretty ride too.
