Full description
Ride, hike, taste, and savor the sights and trails of south east Queensland. This is a fully guided tour, with quality accommodation, new bikes, experienced guides, gourmet meals, wine tastings, and transport all included. Sit back, cycle, hike, and enjoy this exclusive and unique experience. On the first day, you will arrive at your accommodation in Brisbane. Enjoy your first group meal, where you will meet your guide and get to know your fellow guests. The next morning, you will begin the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT). On day three, you continue on toward Ipswitch. Keep an eye out for wildlife including koala, echidna, and emu. The incredibly well restored rail stations on route make great photo opportunities. You will be transferred to the luxurious Hidden Vale Resort, complete with beautiful natural surrounds in the Lockyer Valley. On day four, after an early breakfast, commence with a gentle uphill hike. Keep your eyes peeled for wallabies as you cross open woodland forest to Spicers Canopy. A warm welcome from your Camp Host awaits you along with freshly made afternoon tea or cold beverages. There is now time to unwind, take a dip in the hot tub, and have a hot shower before your chef prepares an evening meal. After dinner, enjoy an outdoor fire as you gaze up to the amazing night sky. The next day, you will set out on a path that has only been travelled by a select few. You’ll have the opportunity to look for goannas, wedge tail eagles, wallabies, and the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo. You will continue climbing, as you break above the tree line and are rewarded with panoramic views of the Great Dividing Range. There is one final push before lunch, using a support rope to climb up to where the trail leads from a drier grass tree plateau. Enjoy a well-deserved lunch before pushing on for the last 2 hours of the hike. Finally, you will arrive at the luxurious Spicers Peak Lodge, where refreshing towels and beverages will be waiting for you. You are all transferred back to Spicers Canopy to enjoy a celebratory dinner and another night under the stunning stars in our luxury camp. On day six, you head back to Brisbane via Sirromet Winery, where you can enjoy a ‘Behind the Scenes’ winery tour and tasting followed by lunch on the Tuscan Terrace.
