    This winery tour of the Douro Valley was MUCH better than expected. Our guide, Hugo, was very informative, caring, and navigated the tricky roads with ease. The whole experience was planned to provide education and enjoyment for all. We walked into a vineyard and learned about the grape vines and varieties, explored vintage grape stomping and processing rooms, and tasted amazing varieties.     2. Pinhão and Douro Valley Day Cruise from Porto

    Escape the hustle and bustle of Porto for the day and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Douro Valley as you cruise along the Douro River to a series of high dams. Marvel at the breathtaking views of the Douro Valley and Alijó in the Norte Region of Portugal. Board the boat at Cais da Estiva in the Ribeira of Porto. Then, travel into the Douro Valley passing the vineyards of one of Europe’s earliest demarcated wine regions. Continue past Quintas to the Crestuma-Lever Dam in time for lunch. Sail further along the Douro River to the high Carrapatelo Dam. Cross the “capital of wine” at Régua, and pause by the Barragem Dam at Bagaúste. At approximately 5:00 PM, the boat will arrive at Pinhão, where you will have a visit to a wine estate with tastings of different samples of wine. Return to Porto by bus for an estimated arrival time of 9:00 PM.

    Beautiful day cruise, good food and great service. But it is a long day excursion.

    Discover one of Portugal’s hidden treasures on a 10-hour excursion to Gerês National Park. Enjoy a day of hiking, kayaking and savoring local food. The itinerary can be altered to make the best of the weather conditions in winter and summer. Travel to the park in an air-conditioned van. After around 90 minutes, you’ll reach the lake, where you’ll begin your tour by kayaking in the it‘s calm waters. Afterwards, relax on a sandy beach and try to stand up paddle before returning to your vehicle. Stop at a local restaurant with amazing views of Rio Cavado, where you will taste local food and wine. In the afternoon you will find a waterfall and lagoon, where you can swim and relax. Visit the old village of Fafiao, and learn more about Portuguese lifestyle in the countryside.

    It was amazing, wow, started off being picked up from our hotel which was great. We had a ride of 1.5 hrs, which was still entertaining thanks to Emanuel was great, charismatic fun and informative. We got there and kayaked and paddle boarded it was so amazing peaceful and fun enjoying stunning views thanks to the know of Emanuel. We followed on to an amazing Portugese Lunch which was delicious and various, they even catered for the dietary options of the whole group some of which were gluten free and vegan. After this we went a but offroading which was fun and drove to this secret water fall swimming spot which was breathtaking. We then were driven back to our hotel in porto. All in all a big credit to this amazing experience was Emanuel he made it fun and memorable for all of us. Such a character, thank you so much Emanuel! Emma and James!

    Head to Gerês National Park on this 10-hour excursion from Porto. Stop for coffee along the way, before arriving at the park. From June to September, enjoy an 8-kilometer hike that takes you past 10 magnificent natural pools (from November to May, the hike will be 10 kilometers long). Stop to enjoy a refreshing swim along the way. Once you reach the heart of the Park, enjoy a picnic as you admire the stunning views around you. A small picnic will be provided, but if everyone brings something to share, it will be more of a feast.  After taking in the views and fresh air, you’ll return to Porto.

    Our guide, Hugo is very knowledgeable. He shared with us the historical info of Guimaraes etc and walked through the sites with us. He’s patient and at times humorous with my kids.

Everything was very well organized, from picking up at my accommodation to bringing it back. The port wine tasting in a beautiful ambience, lunch was delicious in a beautiful location. The previous boat trip showed us the wine-growing area in the form of a terrace. Finally we visited an organic winery.

Recommended experience, both for the landscape and the wines and the explanations of the guide (Hugo).
