Spend a day exploring the wineries and vineyards in Bordeaux on a guided wine tasting trip. Sample wines at three wineries and tour the historic town of Saint-Emilion. Savor local specialties during a picnic at a French castle in Margaux.

Depart from the city center of Bordeaux to discover the most beautiful vineyards of both banks. To start, visit Saint-Emilion with your guide. Tour the village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and discover its historical monuments. Later, visit a château (French castle) and enjoy a tasting of 3 wines while learning about Saint-Emilion. Then, a picnic and tasting of 3 wines await you in a Chateau in Margaux on the left bank.

Enjoy food prepared by an artisanal and traditional Bordeaux caterer who offers fresh, local, and tasty products as well as Basque country charcuterie and cheese.

In the afternoon, stop by the famous Chateau Margaux and take photos before heading to your third guided tour and wine tasting at a 5th grand cru vineyard in the 1855 classification. Finish your tour with a new perspective on the art of winemaking.

René was very nice and clear. He knew a lot about wineries and Bordeaux as a city, great to hang out with a local like him. Each winery had something to new to learn about which kept us interested at each stop. For lunch, getting to taste different cheese and meat was very fun, however the main was quite simple for the price. I wouldn’t take this tour in winter though, you miss most of the pretty landscapes and beautiful sights. But overall definitely a good experience to have for those who enjoy wine. :)

Met at the Olala Bordeaux for the tour. We ended up having a private tour as our group (3 people) was the only one signed up for the full day tour. Headed off to Saint Emilion for the wine tasting at two different chateaus. Then we took a foot tour of Saint Emilion, which was just amazing! The cutest historic town with beauty at every turn and in every little nook. Then back to the Olala for a lunch featuring local fair. Then our same tour guide took us and 4 other people on the afternoon tour to the Medoc region. We tasted wine at two other chateaus and stopped at another for a photo opportunity. It was great to be able to taste wine from two different regions to be able to compare. We then loaded back into the van for the trip back to Bordeaux.

We greatly enjoyed the tour last week. Our guide was organised and so knowledgeable and made the day. We experienced a variety of different châteaux and learned about the experience of wine making from many different perspectives in addition to visiting the village of Saint-Emilion. Would recommend this tour to anyone!
