After your guide has collected you from your accommodation or the port, you will make your way to Levada dos Tornos. This levada is one of the most important in the area, passing through a large part of Madeira Island to deliver water from the north to the south. This walk will take you to the very beginning of this important levada. The path begins in the area of Lombo do Urzal (Boaventura) near a group of houses, from where you will ascend to discover the levada. You'll soon turn right and follow the levada which will lead you to its origin, dos Tornos, where you will find a beautiful waterfall. You can stay in this location for a moment to admire its beauty, before returning by the same route, but this time towards Fajã do Penedo. Enjoy the nature as you travel, which is comprised by the living green of the lush vegetation. You can observe several species of endemic flora and fauna of the Madeira Island, which make this walk a unique experience.

The tour was great, but not in German as booked, but in English (no advance information). Vehicle and guide Anna were absolutely ok, we got a lot explained and were able to take a lot of photos. You should definitely take lunch with you, you get a complete, very tasty menu for 12 euros.

It was an amazing trip, especially off road, in the nature, with open roof. We could stand up and look around. Beautiful views. We had very professional and nice guide Hugo, he was an excellent driver as well. Thanks for a great day!!!!

Super guide was friendly gave us enough time at the stops showed a lot and explained the highlight was the small steam-operated rum distillery and the beautiful views
