Discover Berlin Mitte, the unique historic hotspot on this short and entertaining walking tour. The 1 hour tour is deliberately not geared at historians and is meant to be entertaining and fun, giving you the chance to get a better understanding of Berlin's history. You will get to know the most important sights of the new and old Berlin Mitte. Explore the sites around the new Berlin City Palace which will open in 2019 as Berlin's new museum center. You will be shown the Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island, the biggest museum ensemble in the world which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Further sights you will visit and learn about on the tour are the Nikolaiviertel, TV Tower, the former GDR privy council building and the old Palace of the Republic. On its site, the new Berlin City Palace is emerging. You will also see the Bauakademie, Kommandantenhaus, the Old Museum, Lustgarten and many more. Look and see for yourself the unique density of impressive buildings. You will also learn about Berlin jargon and its history with fun examples of the popular dialect.  The tour is ideal to be combined with other activities as the most popular museums, river cruise docks and many more popular sites are just a short stroll away.

Mmeet in front of the Humboldt Forum Portal 5, opposite the Berlin Cathedral with a view of the Lustgarten and the Alte Nationalgalerie. Portal 5 is located at Schlossplatz. It is one of the reconstructed castle facades. For orientation: Portal 5 is located opposite the Lustgarten and close to the Karl Liebknecht Bridge and the Spree. It's the entrance to the Schlüterhof. The Humboldt Forum can be easily reached by public transportation with the subway line 5 and the bus lines 100 and 300. Station: U Museum Island.
