Full description
Set off on an exciting, unique kayak trip. The tour begins or ends in the Berlin Kreuzberg district at the docks of the van Loon boat restaurant. For the trip you'll have an expert on hand to greet you before the tour beings. The guide will then help you to deploy. While you warm up for the trip, you will have the opportunity to learn a little about the interesting history of the Landwehr Canal. The journey heads westward downstream along the legendary railway line of the U1. The first train line to be built in Berlin runs above your head up until the point where, above and below the ground, a number of different traffic routes cross paths. A reminder of the so called "Rosinenbomber" (Raisin Bombers) from the Berlin blockade of 1948/1949 can be found on the roof of the German Museum of Technology. Continue by following this unique, scenic route next to the Spree, past Potsdamer Platz and the Ministry of Defence. Learn about the poignant history of the area and Stauffenberg's failed execution attempt of Hitler. You'll then paddle further past Tiergarten and Zoologischer Garten. Next up, cross one of the best–known Berlin locks and the city's widest bridge, a fun part and unique adventure especially for older children. The Tour ends in here in Charlottenburg. Your belongings arrived with the kayak-truck and you are just a short walk away from Tiergarten Station from where you can reach your next Berlin adventure. During the afternoon tour, the sights will be toured in the reverse order.

The kayak tour was really fun. The narration stops were very exciting, but at the beginning of the tour we had to hurry quite a bit to get through the lock, which is why it was a bit exhausting for beginners. However, the stops themselves were very informative and interestingly told. Our group consisted of about 10 kayaks, which we found to be a good size.

Great fun and really nice guys

We had a party of eight doing the West Berlin tour. It was really fun and the guys were really helpful. One of our party was in a wheelchair and they were super understanding and relaxed about everything, and he had an amazing time. Everything was well organised and they met us at the other end with their truck and all our bags etc. Would highly recommend!

Great way to see the city

The guide Chris was super friendly. There were a couple of meeting points where he told us a little more about the canal and the history. Apart from that you could go at your own speed and explore the city from a different angle. A little after half of the 3 hour trip, Chris’ college waited for us at a pier with some bretzels and water. If the weather is as sunny as that Sunday, I recommend a hat and lots of sun cream.
