Full description
Clubbing culture in Berlin is unique. The fall of the Berlin Wall made a clubs and free spaces possible and since then these popular places have shaped modern Berlin. These clubs and free places all have important cultural functions in the city of Berlin. They create safe spaces for residents and visitors alike and are continually changing to fit with the new and now. Local politicians are also coming to understand that the clubs are not just cultural influencers, but also important economic players, generating 1.5 Billion Euro each year in revenue. After meeting your guide, you'll explore this fascinating aspect of Berlin's culture and history. First you'll learn how gentrification put an end to Club Rummelsburg, which permenantly closed in 2019. Then take a ride to Warschauer Straße and the RAW area. This area is a great example of a free space which developed right after the Wall came down. Next, discover the close connection between art and clubbing at Berghain. Every month the flyers at Berghain are designed by new artists and for their tenth anniversary they put on an amazing art exhibition. The final stop on your tour is at Holzmarkt where you can see how city development has been influenced by clubbing culture.
