Full description

See all of the German capital’s iconic landmarks on this day tour on an air-conditioned bus. Learn about the city’s unique history from your passionate local tour guide on a whirlwind trip which includes the Alexanderplatz TV Tower, the Berlin Wall, the Reichstag and Museum Island.

Your adventure through Berlin’s past and present will begin in front of the Charlottenburg Palace in west Berlin, where your local tour guide will give you a brief introduction to the capital of Germany before you board the bus and head east.

First, travel through the former British sector along Berlin’s Champs-Élysées - Kurfürstendamm - past the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the KaDeWe, the largest department store in continental Europe. Then, continue east past the impressive parliament building, the Reichstag.

At the iconic Brandenburg Gate, get off the bus to stroll through the historic arch and admire the sprawling Tiergarten. See the capital’s majestic Victory Column and a memorial to soviet soldiers. Then, take a moment to reflect at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.

After some free time for lunch, journey to the spectacular Gendarmenmarkt and Berlin’s historic former Royal Quarter: the beautiful boulevard of Unter den Linden, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Museum Island, and the Berlin Cathedral. Then, discover Alexanderplatz with its iconic TV Tower.

Continue south to the city’s Mitte district and visit  Checkpoint Charlie – the most famous crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. Afterwards, pass through Potsdamer Platz on your way to one of the few remaining pieces of the Berlin Wall.

Finish your tour with a poignant visit to the former site of the headquarters of the SS and Gestapo, today known as the Topography of Terror. You can choose to end your tour here and continue to explore the city alone or to be dropped off at your hotel.
