Afterwards, discover the only known unexcavated Roman Hippodrome in the world, which lies directly underneath the town center. You will then be able to explore the Imperial Palace complete with its luxurious decoration, a true testimony to its glorious past. Next, you will continue to Fruška Gora, a national park with an exciting history and extraordinary beauty. Also known as the Serbian Holy Mount, this is the only real mountain in the Pannonian planes. It rises 539 meters above sea level, offering stunning views over the numerous wine yards and 17 orthodox monasteries which are built around the mountain. The region of Fruška Gora is also well known for its wine making, where some of the most renowned wines around the world are produced. Later, you will drive to Novi Sad, which has been elected a European Capital of Culture for 2021, before visiting the Petrovaradin Fortress, which is the best-preserved fortress on the Danube River. You will then explore the city’s old center and continue to the old town of Sremski Karlovci, where you’ll get to explore its beautiful Baroque center, the Chapel of Peace, and other important landmarks of this Medieval town.
