Full description
Enjoy an authentic culinary experience in Barcelona, and learn how to cook a classic Spanish meal, or Catalan dishes in a “tapas” style. Available as a morning or evening option, morning tours include a visit to La Boqueria Market on Las Ramblas, one of the most thrilling markets in the city center. Join the chef on a behind-the-scenes tour to meet the vendors; some coming from generations of market traders. Learn about the locally grown produce, and select the ingredients for your cooking class. Once in the kitchen, prepare a 4 course menu of paella, soup, appetizer, and dessert. Every Wednesday morning the class is focused on Catalan flavors, with dishes prepared in "tapas" style. Get hands-on help from professionally trained bilingual Spanish chefs, and follow their tips whether you are an experienced cook or complete novice. Once your dishes are complete, sit down to savor your success, with pairings of Riojan (red) and Galician (white) wines.

It was amazing! From beginning to end the experience was amazing. My favorite part was visiting the market and learning about where the food comes from. The cooking experience and our chef Juan were just perfect, Juan was a great host and so much fun to work with. I recommend this activity to enjoy with family or a group of friends, I came with my 8 year old and she had a blast!

I've been to Barcelona multiple times and to the market but I still learned a lot on the tour. Juan was an absolute joy to have as a teacher. He taught us lots of tips and tricks and answered all our questions. He is an excellent cooking teacher, dividing tasks appropriately, letting us have the hands on experience all while keeping us laughing. I signed up as a singleton and had 2 other pairs in my morning group which was just perfect. I'd recommend this to anyone that loves eating and is open to lovely conversations with other expats or tourists.

Our top chef and host was excellent! And what a fun way to do something different and meet interesting people during our Barcelona holiday! We made gazpacho, potato bites with yummy sauce and aioli, bite size meatballs with seafood sauce, tomato bread, and dessert similar to crème brûlée. We were placed in small groups so each group prepared a dish, but all of us helped out along the way. Then set up our table to sit for a great meal together. Everyone was engaging. It was a wonderful group, Lead by a fabulous host.
