Full description

Escape to the natural landscape of the Montserrat mountains on a half-day sightseeing and wine tasting tour from Barcelona by bus.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the mountain range, taste Catalan wines at a local winery, and walk through historic pathways, learning about the region from your local guide.

The strange shaped mountains of Montserrat is the location of a Benedictine monastery that has been a site of pilgrimage for centuries, thanks to its story of the miracles performed by the Virgin Mary and the fabled 12th-century image of Our Lady.

After a short visit to this historic site, head to a boutique winery, just a few minutes away, and tour one of the most important wineries in the region. Located in an impressive castle that’s more than 1,000 years old, the winery boasts more than 1,000 acres of beautiful land.

Tours are kept to a maximum of 16 people for a more intimate experience, and include a tour of the vineyards and winery, where the local wines become older and wiser.

Thanks to your guide, you will sense the history, soil, sun, and rain that influence the 3 wines you will taste.

Learn about the upkeep of the vines, the grape harvest, how the French oak barrels impact on the flavor, and more. To keep you on your feet, the tasting table will be laden with Spanish tapas.

Brilliant day. Nerea (and the other tour guides) were lovely, friendly and helpful. Nerea was knowledge about Monserrat and Catalunya which shone through. She made me feel involved and welcome despite being alone on the tour. Monserrat and the monastery is interesting and stunning in equal measure. Wine tour in beautiful medival castle with lovely wines and intimate tapas plate (half day trip). Wines were beaut too. Would go on the same tour over again! Thank you!

Edu was my guide, him and his colleagues did a brilliant job explaining a broad spectrum of aspects about Monserrat and Catalan culture. I lover how the Catalan aspect was centralised in the tour. As a Welsh person who's language and culture is also under threat, it was great to see the guides promoting and explaining everything that makes Catalonia and Catalan culture unique.

We really enjoyed our trip to Monserrat and the winery. The bus was full and comfortable however, rather dirty. The second bus from Monserrat to the winery was nicer/cleaner. The guides were fun and engaging. Carol gave a brief history lesson on Barcelona that was very interesting. Our guide for Monserrat and the winery was Edu and he was very informative and friendly.
