Full description
Discover the true depths of depravity, desperation and degradation that envelope Barcelona’s past on this 2 hour ‘forbidden’ walking tour of the city. Follow your guide through the backstreets of Barcelona and hear all about the terrifying tales of torture, murder and scandal that’s hidden in the city’s walls. Learn about the 20th century female vampire who roamed the streets looking for children to feast on, and the controversial erotic shows that are still held in secret to this day.  Visit the Basilica of Saints Justus and Pastor, where young schoolboys were once killed for their faith, and the Madame 'Le Petit’, once the biggest brothel in Europe, then retrace the steps of Enriqueta Marti known as the Vampire of Raval. Leon was amazing!! So much knowledge and personality - we could tell he was very passionate about the history of Barcelona. He was so lovely he lent me his cardigan because I was freezing lol - thank you!! The tour was very very insightful, about the darker side of Barcelona and I went away wanting to know even more.

Great and interesting tour. I would do it again at any time!

The tour was very interesting and also fun with Jimi as a guide. Because of his excellent English, everything was easy to understand and we were well managed. It was interesting to learn the other side of Barcelona's history. What should also be noted in my opinion that the tour was in front of the hotel but ends at a different location. We were really on the road for 2 hours, but it was not exhausting.

Fantastic use of 2 hours. Plenty of bang for your buck!

Most tours I've been on in this city and indeed other cities may be friendly and welcoming, but in my opinion suffer from a lack of depth. This walking tour is the absolute exception to this rule and our tour guide Leon blows every other tour guide I have ever had out of the water. This guy lives and breathes the history he is giving out. He has clearly sweated and toiled over many years to build up the knowledge needed to do this tour, including extensive research, interviewing of as many living people (and archival research quite a lot of dead ones too). He has an encyclopedic knowledge of his surroundings but more importantly he relates it too you with a degree of passion, not to mention relateability I have not had the pleasure of seeing often. I urge any of you thinking of doing the forbidden tour to request Leon. You will feel involved and noticed.
