Full description

Enjoy an authentic flamenco dancing show by professional musicians and dancers in Barcelona. You will be immersed in the centuries-long tradition of Spanish culture while savoring a delicious tapas menu with a glass of wine.

Head to the Tablao de Carmen for a night of authentic flamenco performances. Built as a tribute to the great dancer Carmen Amaya, the Tablao de Carmen has been staging its traditional flamenco show since 1988. Located in the Poble Espanyol de Montjuïc, a magnificent open-air museum incorporating elements of typical Spanish villages across the country, the Tablao de Carmen is the perfect place to soak up the architectural and cultural history of Spain. Feel free to take time before and after the show to check out the 117 full-scale buildings, artisan workshops, and souvenir shops that populate the open-air museum. Sit back, relax, and dig into some tapas while watching a flamenco show. Combining experienced professional musicians and dancers with promising youngsters, the show follows centuries-long traditions that have defined the genre. Watch as the stage itself becomes the best school and artistic springboard combined with a style of musical dance performance that doesn't involve formal choreography or synchronized organization. See how the show unfolds according to the interaction among the artists, resulting in a constantly updated show. Pick your favorites from a tapas menu that includes a number of Spanish classics like large olives, cured cheese with olive oil and Andalusian bread snacks, Spanish salad, roasted potatoes in spicy “brava” sauce, southern-style marinated chicken skewers, Oxtail croquettes, deep-fried potato ball with minced meat filling, and Catalan crème brulée. Sip on water, wine, sangria, coffee, or tea.

It consists of a variety of small portions of classic Spanish plates accompanied by a glass of wine.

The performance was excellent! The food was ok, we certainly had better tapas elsewhere in Barcelona. The location was odd. It was inside of a tourist recreation of a Spanish city with little neighborhoods dedicated to different parts of the country. It was the only thing open when we went and a good long walk from anything else.

The Flamenco show was beautiful, a really "must-see". The place itself and the service was however average. A tasty sangria, but half of it was ice, the tapas were typical (and good) but looking at the tables around I think we didn't receive all of them (it's a fixed tapas menu). We didn't complain, it was more than enough what we got, though the service was obviously not complete. The stage was relatively hard to see, but it was Ok in the end. Overall a nice experience.

If you’ve never been to a flamenco or have but want to add another one to your collection then this is for you. Honestly such a lovely little environment, very traditional Spanish, with great food, lovely staff and waitors and the flamenco dancing is amazing. We had tapas which was delicious, constant filled glasses and if you wanted more of anything you just need to ask. Definitely worth a visit if you want to try something you wouldn’t usually do,
