Full description
Head to the Tablao de Carmen for a night of authentic flamenco performances. Built as a tribute to the great dancer Carmen Amaya, the Tablao de Carmen has been staging its traditional flamenco show since 1988. Located in the Poble Espanyol de Montjuïc, a magnificent open-air museum incorporating elements of typical Spanish villages across the country, the Tablao de Carmen is the perfect place to soak up the architectural and cultural history of Spain. Feel free to take time before and after the show to check out the 117 full-scale buildings, artisan workshops, and souvenir shops that populate the open air museum. Sit back, relax, and dig into some tapas while watching a flamenco show. Combining experienced professional musicians and dancers with promising youngsters, the show follows centuries-long traditions that have defined the genre. Watch as the stage itself becomes the best school and artistic springboard combined with a style of musical dance performance that doesn't involve formal choreography or synchronized organization. See how the show unfolds according to the interaction among the artists, resulting in a constantly updated show. Pick your favorites from a tapas menu that includes a number of Spanish classics like large olives, cured cheese with rosemary olive oil, Spanish salad, potatoes bravas, marinated chicken, Oxtail croquettes, a potato ball with minced meat filling, and Catalan crème brulée. Sip on water, wine, sangria, coffee, or tea.

Superb discovery, friendly and pleasant welcome, we were placed closer to the stage on the balcony side the room is small and friendly so that everyone is immersed in the show. The meal is served partly before and during the show. choice of wine or sangria for drinks but my husband preferred a beer and that was no problem. The show was superb, two singers with an exceptional voice, a talented guitarist, 3 dancers and a breathtaking dancer. Arrive a little early to be able to visit the Spanish poble with its typical streets and facades. I highly recommend.

I loved. I was so tired from my day but the troupe managed to wake me up with their energy! And I loved the tapas! I was on my own and even had my own pitcher of sangria! Oh!! And arrive early to visit the Poble Espanyol site. Spanish medieval fortress city that I enjoyed exploring. And the tables are pre-assigned so there's no advantage in queuing!
