Full description

Learn about the construction of the Burma Railway, also known as the “Death Railway,” on this 10-hour historical tour to Kanchanaburi, approximately 80 miles (130 kilometers) west of Bangkok. Upon arrival, you will tour the well-kept War Cemetery, where the graves of an estimated 9,000 Allied soldiers are tended. They perished while constructing the notorious "Death Railway,” which the Japanese had hoped would stretch all the way to the Burmese border. Uncover the terrible history of the railway at the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, an interactive museum, research, and information center dedicated to presenting the story of the Thailand-Burma Railway built during World War II. See the past recreated and relived with pictures and artifacts.

You will also ride a train along the original Death Railway track, with a sumptuous lunch awaiting at the disembarkation station. Return to Bangkok in the late afternoon for your hotel drop-off.

Very organised trip, the van left on time from Bangkok's meeting point. It includes a variety of experiences (boat, train journey, etc.) Worth the visit if you're interested in rural and wild landscapes. The van left early from Kanchanaburi to arrive before 5pm to Bangkok so had plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the evening. I also took a trip to Ayutthaya with Bigcountry experience and was very good. Highly recommend this tour company.

Amazing day tour to Kwai bridge comfy minibus, excellent driver and guide Sam who made sure everything went smoothly and gave lots of great info. Pick up at time arranged. The only thing that could have made it even better would of been a little more time at each stop. But would highly recommend.

We can’t say anything negative about this trip, there were just 3 of us plus the tour operators which worked really well. Our tour guide was extremely helpful and gave us so much more information than we expected. We never once felt rushed and it included a lovely lunch that was unexpected. Would 100% recommend.
