Bali: Sunrise Mount Batur Hike with Breakfast

1. Bali: Sunrise Mount Batur Hike with Breakfast

Scale one of Bali’s natural wonders with a private, early-morning hike up Mount Batur, including breakfast and a trip to a coffee plantation afterwards.  With all entry tickets, accommodation transfers, and an expert local guide also included, the only thing you’ll have to worry about is enjoying the panoramic views.  Begin your ascent at the base of Mount Batur after an early pickup from your accommodation. You’ll even start your jungle trek on an exclusive path with fewer trekkers around. Savor the pristine night sky away from the city lights as you hike. After a 2-hour trek, you’ll then be rewarded at the top with sunrise views over the natural landscape and ocean horizon. And even better, you get to enjoy breakfast at the volcano’s summit.  On the way down you’ll enjoy more vistas, such as Lake Batur, an enormous volcanic crater lake.  You’ll also have the opportunity to stop off for a cup of local Luwak coffee at a coffee plantation before being dropped off back at your accommodation.

Mount Batur: Sunrise Trekking Tour

2. Mount Batur: Sunrise Trekking Tour

The sunrise trek to Mount Batur volcano is considered an essential Bali experience. The famous volcano stands at 1,717 m (5,633 ft) above sea level, overlooking spectacular scenery with views of the crater lake, black lava landscape, and the massive peak of Gunung Agung, Bali’s holiest mountain and the highest point on the island. It takes around 2 hours to reach the summit (1.5 if you're fast); the total hiking duration is usually 4 hours. Before light, you will be walking at cooler climes under an awe-inspiring blanket of stars. At the top, you will witness the sun come up over a sea of clouds before continuing to trek around the crater lake and summit ridge. You'll be given a hot beverage and a sandwich and egg to revive your spirits. After exploring recent lava flows and younger craters, you will head down to loop back to the starting point through a unique volcanic landscape full of native flora and fauna (watch out for the tall grass with purple blooms), encountering mischievous Balinese long-tailed macaques along the way. You must be up and early to begin their trek to make it in time for the break of dawn. You will arrive at the starting point at 3:30am and will begin with a short briefing. Arriving at the top of Mt. Batur takes 1.5-2 hours (3.5km); the total distance of the trail is around 11km.

This was an amazing trip. The sunset view is incredible beautiful and my expectations have been exceeded many times. Thank you! The hospitality of the team is superb. Everything, from the punctual pick up the to the ascent and back was well managed. Arta, the driver, knows the island like his pocket vest and was like my guide on Mt Batu, Patra, are very welcoming and helpful at any point in time. Both speak fluently english. I can warmly recommend this tour to everyone who is visiting Bali - this is definitely as a must see in your bucket list.

Breakfast can't be called breakfast. Sandwich with eggs, snake skin fruit, coffee and a bar... It was more a snack. We didn't like it. You have to wear good shoes as it's steep and you need to have at least an advanced level of fitness.

A superb discovery at sunrise. Our guide, Wayan, was very attentive and really friendly. The ascent is not difficult but still requires to be in good physical shape.

The hike was a bit exhausting but definitely worth it! Beautiful view and experience. The guide was very nice as was the driver.

All the team pak Patra, Putu etc amazing and v helpful !
