From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

5. From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

Head for the island of Nusa Penida and embark on a snorkeling adventure. Take advantage of 3 different stops to swim with Manta Rays, enjoy lunch on the beach, then spend the afternoon exploring the mangrove forest. Benefit from pick-up at your hotel in selected areas of Bali, and then journey to Nusa Penida, located 20 kilometers off the southeast coast. The largest of Bali's 3 sister islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan), Nusa Penida is much less developed and remains home to abundant and pristine nature. Marvel at the dramatic landscape and steep cliffs along the coast as you make your way to some of the island's best snorkel sites. Upon arrival at the protected bay of Manta Bay, discover an ocean rich with plankton that attracts beautiful reef manta rays that can sometimes measure up to an impressive 4 or 5 meters in wing span. Go to 3 of the best snorkel sites on the island, including popular spots (depending on conditions) such as Crystal Bay, Toyapakeh, and Gamat Bay. As the strong swells of the Indian Ocean can impact conditions, the situation will be carefully monitored to take you to where it is safe to swim with the rays less than 1.5 meters from the surface of the sea. If conditions are not suitable, your snorkeling itinerary will be adjusted accordingly, as your safety is always the number one priority. Following your magical snorkeling adventure, break for a delicious beachside lunch at Paradise Beach on Nusa Lembongan. The lunch is served as an Indonesian food buffet. Then, get the chance to explore the mangrove forest in the afternoon by kayak, stand-up paddle board, or private gondola.

What a hike! We got picked up by Agus exactly on the time he said. He was very nice and we talked a bit but as we had a short night he let us just enjoy the drive in the dark. Our guide was Nova. Such a great guy! He let us rest when we needed, was running up and down between us and the 2 other girls making sure everybody is ok on the way up. We got lucky with the weather and saw the sun coming up, even got some cool pics. The breakfast was ok for most people, I’m not fan of banana but honestly you’ll survive that few hours on biscuits too. The hike was tough both up and down, but doable. Make sure to have proper hiking/trail shoes for good grip. And it’s definitely cold, especially after sweating 2 hours. Overall it was a great experience!

I was supposed to be in the group excursion but ended up being on private tour with Edi Strawberry. And I loved it so much! I had a great time and could see places I was always dreaming about. Edi was so patient with me, taking so many picture of me and giving me some information about Bali and Indonesia. It was a long day but full of memorable moments! Thank you ☺️

Driver was super communicative and helpful. Easy for me to find when exiting airport. It was a long drive from there to the other side of Bali and it was pleasant.

Beautiful sunrise but quite a difficult hike, worth it all in the end. Tour guide was exceptional.

Great tour with amazing people! I can only recommend it!
