Follow a licensed guide on a poignant tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial. After, travel to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and take a guided underground tour and witness beautiful chambers carved in salt. Benefit from roundtrip transfer services on this unique combined tour experience from Krakow. Arrive at the Auschwitz I Museum and embark on a walking tour with a certified educator. Explore the remains of the Nazi camp's barracks, watchtowers, and crematoriums. With the help of the provided headset, listen as your guide tells about the ghastly Nazi crimes committed in the camps and hear stories of the everyday lives of the prisoners. Next, continue the tour at the Auschwitz-Birkenau II Memorial. Witness gas chambers and the remains of the railway which transported prisoners to the camps. After a lunch break, drive to the nearby town of Wieliczka to visit its famous salt mine. Prearranged tickets will be waiting for you at the salt mine along with a local guide. Start the tour inside the salt mine by walking down long sets of steps, taking you 135 meters underground and through labyrinthine passageways, tunnels, and shafts. See underground lakes, 4 chapels, and unique statues carved by miners out of rock salt. Experience a unique place to visit and a must-see during your stay in Krakow. Once the guided tour is over, take a lift from the underground back up to the main ground level to meet your driver. Sit back and relax as you make the journey back to Krakow.

Our guides were amazing, factual and respectful. If you are visiting in the winter months remember to wear warm clothes as we had to wait in the queue outside Auschwitz for about an hour. It was a long day but very worth it and the tour allowed for many refreshment breaks throughout the day. Great tour, would recommend.

Very interesting trip. Although it is a long day both these activities are worth doing and if you’re in Krakow for only a short amount of time it’s worth combining them. The time on the transport (nice mini bus) is a good rest. Can save money by going on public transport but the ease of this trip made it worth paying the extra.

Everything was neatly arranged for the part of Auswitsch. We received our information on time, etc. However, for the salt mines, we received a message less than 24 hours in advance asking if we could also come at another time because they had problems or they could get us in there that day. In the end it was resolved well, but this took half a day, during which we were unsure whether we could go there. Plus we had already paid. And if you have booked shortly in advance, you expect a company to find out in advance whether they can offer a tour and not sow ambiguity so short in advance. The mines themselves were also disappointing in the end and not a good guide (could not be understood and did not enjoy it). Auswitsch was impressive, nice guide, English was okay, just a pity that the group after us was really pushing that we had to continue, this made it more difficult to read texts and take pictures.
