Full description

Embark on an unforgettable guided day trip from Athens to Delphi, the navel of the ancient Greek world. Visit the Delphi Archeological Site and museum and see the Temple of Apollo, the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, and more. Later, get free time to explore a scenic village.

The morning of your trip, meet your licensed tour guide and depart in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The drive takes about 2.5 hours going each way, so sit back and enjoy the passing scenery as you pass through the Boeotia plains.

As you travel, begin to immerse yourself in Ancient Greece as your guide tells tales about ancient Greek mythology, King Oedipus, God Apollo, and more.

During a guided tour through the archaeological site, see some of the most important and unique archaeological monuments, such as the Temple of Apollo and its oracle, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall.

Later, you can visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi (entry fees paid on site), which hosts globally known pieces of art like the Sphinx of Naxos, the Statue of Antinous, the Siphnian Treasury, and the Charioteer of Delphi.

After the visit to Delphi, hop back on the bus to the multicolored village of Arachova, built on the mountainside. Get free time to arrange for lunch on your own at a traditional taverna (costs not included).

Take time to go on a stroll around the village’s narrow alleys, enter some artisanal shops for local delicacies, and admire the local hand-woven carpets. In the late afternoon, depart for your return to Athens, on another 2.5-hour drive.

Great guide, good tour. Sure, a lot of time on the bus, but still nice to see something outside of Athens, and on the mainland. We unfortunately picked the day where there was a general strike so there was extra time getting out of and back into the city, but we survived. Mariza was a wonderful guide!

I really not into tours, but I on this I made an exception and it was a great decision. We left the meeting place at 830-845. The bus is so clean, feels new, AC is working, chair is comfortable and glass is clean and well maintained. Driver Egalos (i believe that is his name) is a safe driver. Kimon and Simon, is a very kind and very very knowledgeable tour guide. I answer all of my questions without judging. He also considerate with all other travelers, he will wait for you and make you sure everyone is a counted for and safe. I am so happy we have Simon as our tour guide.

Simon, our guide, made this experience excellent! He is very knowledgeable, patient with a quirky sense of humour. Our driver was was also top notch. For future travelers: 1) Wear good running shoes or hiking shoes. 2) We had plenty of time to explore every site. Except for Aranhova. Understanbly, if we needed to make it back to the city by 8 pm, we could not spend more than an hour in Aranhova. So, either you get a quick sandwich and you walk through the town or you sit down and have a hearty lunch while enjoying the view. Thank you as well to the staff at the office who was very welcoming and helpful.
