Full description

Discover Delphi on a guided tour from Athens. Visit the Temple of Apollo and Delphi Archaeological Museum and take in the views of the Greek countryside.

Depart Athens and drive through the fertile plain of Boeotia, crossing the town of Thebes, world-renowned for its tragic story of King Oedipus. Continue through the picturesque towns of Livadeia and Arachova on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Upon arrival at Delphi, explore the "Omphalos" ("Navel of the Earth").

Marvel at the ruins of an ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of the oracle. Learn how its influence extended beyond the confines of the Hellenic world, and take in the views of a landscape of unparalleled beauty. See the remains of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, and visit the Treasury of the Athenians. Look at the remaining columns of the Temple of Apollo, and go to the Delphi Archaeological Museum where masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture can be found.

Look at the legendary Charioteer of Delphi, regarded as one of the finest bronze sculptures of the ancient world. See the statue of the athlete Aghias and other artifacts from antiquity. Enjoy lunch in the modern village of Delphi, before the return trip to Athens by the same route (if selected). A short stop in Arachova will be provided for your comfort.

Excellent excursion, Delphi is worth the trip. The Ewfi guide is a well of culture (explanations throughout the journey and on the site). Very comfortable bus. The only downside is the "imposed restaurant" if you have chosen this option (far from everything, so difficult to eat if you haven't brought anything) Average cuisine, served with a slingshot, better to bring your picnic.

Very good day. Professional and serious guide. We would obviously like more time on the site but the round trip from Athens obliges. The express stop (20 minutes) in the village on the way back is frankly pointless as there is so little to do there and the time is short (we would already prefer to be on the way back). Nevertheless, a very good experience!

The trip to Delphi is beautiful. Our guide was interesting and informative, he seemed to be passionate about the history and myths surrounding the site. He kept the tour to a good pace. The coach was comfortable and air conditioned which was a relief in the heat of Athens. Our guide also allowed our tour to stop at an additional site on the way back at ther request of one of our group. It was a great extra stop! The only thing which stops it being 5 stars was the lunch stop. We had not opted for the included lunch and the info suggested we stopped in Delphi town which would have given us options of restaurants. However, we stopped at a restaurant just outside of Delphi so we weren't a able to choose. The restaurant was busy with tour groups and seemed overpriced for what was served.
