When we arrived to meet our guide, I was a little dubious about the location. As with much of Athens, many of the buildings were dilapidated and most were covered in graffiti. This was a little more ‘street’ than I had anticipated! However, as soon as we met our guide, any reservations disappeared. She was so proud of her city and encouraged us to see the beauty in the graffiti and to celebrate the freedom of expression. Her knowledge of the area was excellent and we stopped just enough times to hear little bits of information about various buildings. Our first food stop was for traditional pies. We stopped at a local bakery and were given a very warm welcome along with cheese pies, spinach pies and cinnamon custard pies, all of which were delicious. We were a little uncertain as to how much to pace ourselves as we were not sure what else was to come. I would say portions were perfect. We had several stops for cheese m, wine, souvlaki and amazing salads. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

We booked our tour very spontaneously and met our tourguide sophia on time at the station. We spend 3 amazing hours and got the chance to experience the city from a completely different angle. Sophia explained a lot about the citys history, street culture and food. We visited 5 different places where we received super nice food and drinks that satisfied the whole group. I would recommend and book it anytime again!

Some people from the US and me (German)had a marvellous time with our perfect guide Sophia. She told us so much about Greek culture and especially delicious food. Sophia was very enthusiastic and you could see she loves her country and wants people feel comfortable while learning about food and street culture. When we had to say goodbye at the end of our tour it was like saying goodbye to a friend. Could you ask for more? :-)
