Full description

You will depart together with your friendly archaeologist guide from the “Smart-Eco-Pickup” at Piraeus Metro Station. From here you can admire the Port of Piraeus; the chief sea-port of Athens since antiquity. It is the largest port in Greece, and one of the largest ports worldwide, and your archaeologist will tell you all the secret stories behind it. From here you will board a ferry, from where you will feel the sea breeze with a nice cup of coffee whilst taking amazing pictures of the seagulls and surrounding scenery. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, you will reach the traditional island of Aegina, the "island of artists". Here you will have about 3 hours to walk around through the picturesque alleys, the charming local shops, and restaurants, as well as the traditional fish market. Aegina is well known for the traditional pistachio nuts, and you will have the chance to taste these delicious products directly from the local producer. They are used in various sweets such as baklava, kataifi, sweet cakes, ice cream, butter, chocolates, and liqueur. The horse carriages in the picturesque squares of the island bring back retro memories of years gone by, and whilst there you can take the chance for a romantic ride around the “chora” (the capital of a Greek island). You can taste fresh homemade delicacies in a cozy tavern against the harbor, from a “balcony” above the sea. The hospitality at its highest level becomes one with the traditional appetizers, as you experience the welcome of the friendly islanders. After being enchanted by the island life and the majestic landscapes, you will complete this unique experience with a relaxing return by flying dolphin. You will head back to Athens, where you will return to your point of origin.

We had a wonderful time on our day trip! My Husband and I were with 3 other people so it was a smaller group. Our guide Stavroula was amazing and very attentive. She wanted to make sure we all had a great time! You could tell she was knowledgeable and really enjoys her job.

-The meeting point was well marked and Stavroula (tour guide) was punctual, giving us enough time to get to and on the ferry. -The crossing was entertaining, which was also due to the fact that Stavroula was always ready to tell and explain. -After a short flying visit to the Temple of Apollo we went to the beach by bus. -The beach was clean and the water clear. We enjoyed the welcome cooling. -Then came a slightly less enjoyable part - the ordered food. It wasn't worth the money!!! The skewers were tough, lukewarm and looked very unappetizing. -Then we went back to the port and Stavroula took us through the village. Unfortunately they were all!! Churches closed, which we were a bit disappointed about. It was only thanks to Stavroula that we quickly forgot about this. She explained all the points of contact very expertly and it was never boring. We had a lot of fun with her!!!! 6 stars out of 5 for Stavroula !!!! Thanks again

The day trip from Athens to Aegina Island was very practical (not too tiring as compared to other itineraries which include multiple islands in the same day). Done in small group. Meet-up was at the Piraeus metro station where we met our guide. The transportation was pre-arranged by ferry. Our guide Stavroula was friendly, competent and knowledgeable, especially in the Greek history and archeology. She took into consideration our interests and tailored the excursion. We went to the temple of Apollo, walking tour through the beautiful streets of Aegina, and Pistachio and Pistachio products tasting (very good experience and we bought some products afterwards). We spent also a few hours at a beautiful, secluded beach with turquoise waters and a fully equipped beach bar.
