Meet your guide early in the morning and start your tour of the Acropolis before the heat of the day sets in. Admire the Theatre of Dionysus on the south slope of the Acropolis as you make your way up the hill to view the ancient structures located there.

Marvel at the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Pedestal of Agrippa as your guide shares the fascinating history of this ancient site.

Next, head downhill in the direction of Plaka, admiring views of the Ancient Agora and the National Observatory of Athens as you walk.

Explore the cobblestone streets of Plaka with your guide as you discover secrets unknown even to the locals. Enjoy the tranquility of this village within a city as you explore the many narrow passages and discover hidden gems.

Dimitri our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the Acropolis and the Plaka area weaving the facts with stories to keep the tour interesting. Tour was run at a steady pace but still allowed time to look at the different parts of the Acropolis and take photos. Really recommend booking the Plaka as an inclusion as this was great to explore the area in Athens that looked like a mini Santorini/Mykonos in its architecture and get ideas and directions of places to visit.

We had a wonderful time! Angela was great and super knowledgeable! We had an easy time for the walk but it can be extremely difficult for anyone with walking problems which a few from our group had (there are many stairs and steep inclines and declines). We learned so much!!

The tour of the acropolis was very good, the only thing that would improve is that the plaka part was more about pointing out where things were rather than an explanation or real tour and despite the fact that we finished almost an hour before what was said on the page.
