Enjoy a panoramic tour along the winding streets and colorful surroundings aboard an Ape Calessino tuk-tuk, following San Francesco and Santa Chiara’s footsteps. Discover the historical and artistic treasures of this medieval town, the birthplace of San Francesco, which stands on a top of a hill, overlooking a valley covered by vineyards, fields and olive oil trees. The tour departs from the historical town center or you can enjoy a free pick-up from your hotel aboard a vintage Ape Calessino. You will admire the St. Clare Basilica from the outside, the roman and medieval main square Piazza del Comune, the San Rufino cathedral, the medieval Rocca Maggiore with the superb view that overlooks the valley and the majestic Saint Francis Basilica. The tour will proceed to Santa Maria Degli Angeli, la Portiuncola, then to Rivotorto and St. Damien.

My mom and I took this tour in September 2019. We had an amazing guide who was very knowledgeable on the area and took us to sights we would otherwise have not known to go see as well as the sights within Assisi proper. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Assisi as to try and walk the areas we saw would have been a bit difficult with the inclines of the landscape. Our guide was very patient with us, answering all of our questions and providing so much more information than I ever knew about St. Francis and St. Claire. A beautiful area that I will definitely come back to and spend more time in.

consigliatissimo!!! esperienza unica... ci siamo divertite a girare con una guida bravissima che ci ha raccontato tantissimo di Assisi. abbiamo avuto tutto il tempo di visitare e riempire cuore e anima con la pace e la meraviglia che questa città sa regalare. grazie davvero di cuore!!! torneremo sicuramente!!!
