2. From Jerusalem: Petra & Wadi Rum 3-Day Tour

The tour begins in Jerusalem, as you head toward the Jordanian border. Cross at the Allenby Bridge border, and enter Jordan, driving through the desert for about an hour to then have a local lunch. Continue towards the exquisite desert landscape of Wadi Rum, virtually untouched by humanity. Travel through the vast scenic desert valley on a 4×4 Jeep tour, providing the best possible experience of this moon-like landscape, the red sand dunes, towering cliffs of weathered stone, and desert animals with the sunset’s beautiful colors. From there, go to a Bedouin camp near Petra where you will enjoy Bedouin hospitality, including an Arab-style dinner and a comfortable bed for the night. From Eilat: 2-Day Petra & Wadi Rum Tour with Camp Stay

3. From Eilat: 2-Day Petra & Wadi Rum Tour with Camp Stay

Petra is the most famous tourist site in Jordan today. Petra was once occupied by the Nabateans, and almost everything in Petra was constructed by them. Visiting Petra, you'll be able to see over 800 objects, including the famous treasury, temples, mourning houses, caves, and more. Wadi Rum is everything you'd expect of a quintessential desert: extreme in heat in the summer and freezing temperatures in the winter. It is violent and moody as the sun slices through the chiseled canyons at dawn or melts the division between rock and sand at dusk. It is exacting on the Bedouin who live in it and vengeful on those who ignore the dangers it presents. Experience its power and beauty with your expert guide. Your tour will begin with a pick up from your hotel in Eilat at 08:30 AM. After crossing the Arava border, you will drive to Wadi Musa Petra and tour the site. After the tour, you will eat lunch in Petra and drive to Wadi Rum and stay overnight at an authentic Bedouin camp. Along the way, you will learn all about the Nabataeans, their history, their art, gods, and the Bedouin way of life. Upgrade your experience in the desert to a 4-star tent with a private bathroom which includes a shower and a toilet in the tent.

This was a well organized trip, which put a lot of interesting things in each day, so that we had 3 fully packed days. We had the impression to get the most possible out of everything, and there were also a lot of nice meals and the very special venue of the tends near Petra. Best of all was the super well informed and friendly guide Ali, who provided us always with all the relevant background information, answered every question with attention and a deep knowledge and took care of every small and big problem. He encouraged us to ask always more in order to get a real understanding not only of the sites but also of Jordan and it’s people. He gave us a very direct approach to everything. Only thing not organized perfectly well was the journey back to Israel: we got the last meal at noon and then had a long stretch to the border and further to Jerusalem. With the bus arriving late at the border we were back only at 8:30 pm… One (additional?) night within Wadi Rum would be very nice!

I did a tour with Abraham Tour to Jordan- the 3 day option and we all had a blast. I did it in September 2022 I lucked out in having an amazong bunch of people in my group, our guide Wally (spelt I think Wa`hle or similar) was amazing. He is easily in my top 5 guides ever.... Abraham have terrible reviews from 2019 but newer reviews were amazing so I took a chance and decided it will be them. Also, theit itinery aligned with what I want to see. They were truly really good and my whole group had a lot of fun. I said I will go back to Jordan and I think partly because of the fun time I had. I spent a couple days wondering- 2 or 3 day tour. 3 day tour might be more expensive, but I do think you need a full day in Petra. We walked so much and went to the monastery and around. I think a couple hours are not enough. If you go for the 3 day one, the visa fee is lifted. Jordan is amazing and the Jordani guide and driver were terrific!

The days in Jordan flew by and our amazing guide Ali made the tour unforgettable. He imparted his knowledge in a pleasant way and you could tell his 20 years of experience. I always felt that I was in good hands with him and the driver. The camp is in a fantastic location and the sunsets and starry sky were a dream. The tents and beds were comfortable and fit for purpose, the sanitary facilities were clean. I was very happy that it was still low season, so Petra and the camp were not as busy as expected. Wishes: Make a stop in the capital on the first day, after all you drive past it so close (possibly a viewpoint, omit the castle). On re-entering Israel to find a bus with a note from Abraham Tour and a bus driver who had been informed by Abraham Tours how many people to take. This small part just after the border was really badly organized.

Picked up from our hotel in Amman at 6am to begin 3 hour drive to Petra in comfortable air conditioned car. Arrived at Petra at 9am. Our driver was very friendly and he said we could take as long as we liked exploring Petra and meet him back at the car. We were grateful for this as the site is very big. We spent 5 hours inside Petra and met back at the car at 2pm to begin drive to Wadi Rum which was another 1.5 hr drive. When arriving we exchanged tour guide and vehicle (for a Toyota land cruiser) and began tour of the Wadi Rum. Our tour guide was a local, born and raised in the Wadi Rum and very knowledgeable. Stopping to take photos every now and then. We even stopped at a Bedouin desert camp to have tea. We returned to our original driver after and arrived back in Amman about midnight. What a fantastic day. Worth every penny!

This was an amazing trip. We had the best time. Our guide Kareem was lovely and really willing to do whatever it took to make everyone happy. Petra was awesome, the desert was beautiful and the tents were more than tents. They were air conditioned and better than we expected. The lunch was just a sack lunch with no protein so if you need something substantial then bring it with you. This was definitely worth doing. I highly recommend it.
