Berlin: Jewish Heritage and History Private Guided Tour

2. Berlin: Jewish Heritage and History Private Guided Tour

The Jews were spread worldwide after being exiled from their land. Many settled in central Europe, and still others came after the "The Spanish Expulsion", staying steadfast in keeping their old faith and customs amid constant persecutions. Germany, including Berlin, excluded the Jews from normal life, but the Jews were persistent in the face of attacks and eventually received full rights as citizens. From isolated ghettos and communities, the Jews climbed to an influential social position in economy, science, culture and the new emerging democratic politics of Germany until the Nazis took power. The tour will tell the amazing story of Jews in Germany and the Nazi attempt to eradicate them from Europe.

The tour through the backyards of Berlin was a journey through history. It was an entertaining and very informative tour. This was primarily due to our guide, Ms. Lillian Kapaun. With very impressive words and with a lot of background knowledge, she presented the origin and history of the backyards. Many thanks again to Ms. Kapaun for the impressive tour.

We particularly liked how our guide Arne designed the tour and conveyed the information and the stories that went with it. It was always interesting. Oh, if the tour turned out to be a little longer than planned, the time just flew by. 100% recommended.

It was a very informative and historical tour, even for Berliners. Great Guide.

I also found the legends about buildings, backyards and churches very valuable

It was most enjoyable tour. I saw so many new parts of Berlin.
