A fabulous (and quirky) tour of beautiful Budapest

Thank you so very much to the Retro-tour team for a thoroughly enjoyable evening! I organised this as a surprise for my partner, Peter, thinking it would be a quirky and unique way for us to see Budapest at night. Our Retro-tour guide picked us up from our hotel and, after the warmest welcome and introductions, we set off in our old Russian jeep. To be shown around a most beautiful city at sundown by someone who knows and loves the place was a truly amazing experience. Your warmth and generosity will not be forgotten. We cannot thank you enough and look forward to our next Retro-tour adventure.

Amazing experience, can’t recommend highly enough

I booked this bike ride for our first afternoon in Budapest and even after 4 day’s of exploring, we both agreed it was the highlight! Our guide Jean was hugely knowledgable and engaging and looked after us for the 3 hours. It was an amazing experience and the perfect way to see a large amount of the Pest side of Budapest. The cycling itself was very slow and low impact so I’m confident that most people could do it with very little effort or stress. Every city should offer a tour by bicycle!

Great fun ride seeing some of the most notable sights.

Lazlo was a good driver and took us to some of the big sites but the whole ride was fun in the old Russian jeep. Lazlo was friendly and accomodating. We got to walk around the sites on our own and others he pointed out along the way. He took us through the leafy streets of Buda suburbs which was lovely to see. Just some advice if you have long hair tie it up and wear a hat and sun glasses as the jeep is open to the very hot fine weather in Budapest.

interesting walking tour, nice mini opera but opera under construction

Opera building is under construction so it was a pity that we could not see the main theater hall but the 10 min. mini opera was nice. Walking tour was cold but interesting Tour guide was difficult to find because no umbrella or flag. 2 US members were looking for the guide at the wrong Costa Coffee address so 30 min.delay to get all tour members together.

So much fun. Very knowledgable guide who bought fun to the facts

Such a brilliant excursion to do. We did it on our last day but I would suggest doing it on your first day as you see so many wonderful places of interest that you then need the next few days to explore. The tour guide made learning about the city so much fun. It was during heritage weekend so there was plenty to see. Would definitely recommend.
