Travel back in time to the dark days of WWII, learning what life was like during the occupation by the Germans from 1940-1945 and how Anne Frank became an iconic symbol of the brutality of suppression. Hear the story about her diary and how it came to be published by her father Otto Frank. Learn why the Dutch tried to co-exist with the occupying army and hear about several events, such as the February Strike and Winter of Hunger. Visit the Jewish Cultural Quarter, and listen to the history of the Portuguese synagogue and the Auswitz monument. Excellent

I really enjoyed this- I read the diary 30 years ago as a child and remember the characters well. I visited the annex twice before many years ago ( just showed up, paid at the entrance that was it!) - this time I brought my daughter but could not get tickets. Never mind there is tons to do in Amsterdam..... I booked this trip at the last minute and walked in her footsteps- I am still trying to take it in. I never expected to feel such a connection after so long. Her house, school, where she played, the bookshop and ice cream store.... My feeling is if you also have read and read the book- take a walk around where she lived you will not regret it. It was also great to see the effort made to preserve her memory.
