Full description

Swap Amsterdam for the Dutch countryside on this full-day tour to Edam, Volendam, Marken, and Zaanse Schans. Experience Dutch culture with visits to a cheese producer, clog factory, fishing village, and traditional windmills.

Meet your guide at Amsterdam's Central Station to board a bus for Zaanse Schans. Admire the charming town's traditional Dutch windmills, and learn about how they are still in use today.

Your next stop is Edam, a stunning village world famous for its cheese. Take in the town's historical sites, such as the 18th century cheese warehouses, on your way to the town square.

In the cute fishing village of Volendam visit a local cheese producer to hear about the production of Edam and Gouda cheeses, and, of course, enjoy a cheese tasting.

While in the postcard worthy town, witness the art and tradition of wooden clog making, find a fish restaurant for lunch, and keep an eye out for locals in traditional dress.

Finally, travel back in time to the 17th century in Marken. Wander the streets of this quintessential and colorful fishing village before boarding the bus back to Amsterdam.

Excellent tour. It covered many point of interests and sightseeing outside the city in 6.5 hours. Our tour guide Miguel C. was very knowledgeable and shared with us a brief history of Netherlands. From the windmills, the beautiful shops, the cheese tasting and clog shoe making to the scenic fishing town. We loved it all. Wish we have more time to stroll at Volendam and Marken seaside.

Nice and interesting visit. Tour guide was enthusiastic and provided good information at all the stops and on the bus. Stops were just for the right duration so the tour was time well spent. However, a bit more time could have been given for the lunch as 1 hour was too short given that 10 minutes are needed to walk to and from the restaurant area.

This trip was AMAZING. Our guide, Raquel, was the absolute best and made the entire experience feel very personal and special. She had in-depth knowledge about the Netherlands, each location of the tour and Amsterdam city, including historical, geographical, fun facts and advise on where to eat! She always offered to take your photo for you and was an all-round friendly face and caring guide! I have already recommended this to pretty much everyone I know!
