What people are saying about Amarante

We booked a trip to the Douro Valley to get a full experience of the region. The guided tour was a way for us to relax and take in the beauty of the area and be able to learn about the different aspects of not only the Douro Valley but the wine and how it’s produced. The first stop brought us to a little town to explore called Vila Real. The two wineries that we visited were both unique in their own ways. The town of the first location of the winery was where Magellan was born and we got to learn about the history. Lunch was included that also featured a nice wine pairing. The boat ride was a nice feature to explore the region. Our guide was great! She was very knowledgeable and added to the experience. I would highly recommend doing this tour if you do not want to rent a car and on a limited constraint.

Great day out - Jo our coach was fluent in English and Portuguese and was extremely knowledgeable and also fun . The meal was great value and both tastings were fun and educational It was a long day out but was not boring at all ! Shame the weather was very cold that day but scenery still beautiful
