Amsterdam: Countryside Tour and Canal Cruise or 5D Flight

4. Amsterdam: Countryside Tour and Canal Cruise or 5D Flight

Depart Amsterdam and travel by air-conditioned coach to the open-air museum of Zaanse Schans. Marvel at the historic windmills and other typical architecture, and watch live demonstrations of traditional craftsmen at work to see how authentic clogs are made. Get some free time to explore on your own before traveling through the distinctive polders (land reclaimed from water) of Beemster. Continue to Edam to see the tranquil canals, lined with beautiful 17th-century buildings, including Carillon Tower and the Town Hall. Learn how Edam cheese is made and taste some at a nearby farm. End with a visit to the fishing village of Volendam, where you can buy souvenirs or put on a traditional Dutch costume for a photo keepsake. Walk through the oldest parts of the village to discover sights such as the wooden Stolphoevekerk before driving back to Amsterdam.  Finally, finish your day with the choice of two attractions: The ultimate 5D VR flight experience over the Dutch countryside or a relaxing canal cruise to admire Amsterdam's most famous attractions. The cruise passes all of Amsterdam's most famous attractions and you’ll encounter canal houses from the Golden Age, the Westerkerk, and the Anne Frank House. The unique 5D flight experience doesn’t just show you the Netherlands, it lets you live it. Experience breathtaking films providing you with a spectacular perspective from the air and new insights into how the Netherlands was created. Thanks to the astonishing special effects projected on a huge domed screen, you’ll feel like you’re soaring over the must-see sites of the Netherlands.

Amsterdam-Noord: 3-Hour Private Walking Tour

5. Amsterdam-Noord: 3-Hour Private Walking Tour

After finding a meeting point that suits you in Amsterdam Central (if your hotel is in the area we can meet there), we head to Centraal Station, and hop on the ferry to urban, edgy Amsterdam-Noord, an area once used for heavy industry that today attracts the city’s cool kids and artists. Check out a fascinating exhibition at the Eye Film Museum and see a collection of Dutch and foreign movies and film posters before zooming up the elevator to the A'DAM Lookout, an observation deck with a panoramic view of Amsterdam’s historical center, the port, and the Dutch landscape. Back at ground level, snap pictures of the NDSM Werf – a shipping yard turned gritty skate park – then take a peaceful stroll along the idyllic Noordhollandsch Canal (and maybe stop for a drink at the storybook-esque d’Admiraal Windmill, a centuries-old smock windmill next to the canal). Explore the Pekmarkt flea market – which has a different theme every day of the week – and browse through goods ranging from textiles to fresh local produce. Amble through the historic Nieuwendammerdijk, a quaint urban village that was once a late medieval settlement, and stop off at Pllek – a post-industrial local hangout near the IJ waterfront housed in old storage containers. And if you still have a minute to spare? Gawk at Crane Hotel – a quirky B&B set inside a former harbor crane. Your itinerary will be personalized according to your preferences. Once you’ve booked, someone from our team will be in touch, so let us know if you have any special requirements.

Very practical and easy to use, it included many interesting activities that if we had gone on our own we might not have thought of doing. We bought the two-day pass and the only question was whether the duration was for calendar days or for periods of 24, 48, etc. hours, because we had an important visit that we could not do during the second day and fortunately we had a margin until 11 AM on the third day. They resolved our doubts by phone (24/7) quickly. Very important: look at which activities require a prior reservation. I also think that the presentation of the list of possible activities should be improved in a more interactive way (it is a PDF and from the mobile it is quite cumbersome to handle as the characters are very small and you have to be constantly enlarging).

The Amsterdam City Card was definitely worth it. We used the tram and metro to get between the more distant destinations more quickly. We didn't really manage all of the included attractions in 5 days :-) Booking timeslots online without buying tickets was a bit complicated for some museums etc. We would book the City Card again for our next visit to Amsterdam!

He public transportation portion was well used. We are ate 2 of the discount estaurantsand enjoyed them. And it was so nice to be able to enter the zoo and museums knowing it was paid with the card.

Very easy and there is a lot of choice of things to do. Public transport is unlimited and you can visit Amsterdam easily. However, you need a good pair of legs because the tram stops are far apart

We did well to take the all-inclusive Go city pass, not to spend on activities. It was useful to us
