Full description

Climb aboard a 65-foot luxury catamaran conveniently docked in the heart of Auckland. Set sail on the "Dolphin Explorer" to take in the sights and sounds of the city from the water. Enjoy a quick tour past impressive landmarks, such as the Auckland Harbour Bridge, North Head/Devonport, and Rangitoto Island. Keep a close look out for Orca and Bottlenose Dolphins that regularly visit the waters close to the city. Then explore the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park. Get up-close viewings of whales, dolphins, and sea birds.

The "Dolphin Explorer" is able to get much closer than whale watching operations in other locations. Learn about the fauna via expert commentary from the ship's skipper, gained from 15 years of running trips daily in the area.

The tour and the crew on board were really great. Interesting things about the animals and their behavior are told throughout the journey and animal sightings are guaranteed. About 40-50 dolphins swam around our boat and a few accompanied us for a while. I really recommend it to anyone who loves sea creatures

Auckland: Whale and Dolphin Watching Half-Day Eco Cruises are professional, friendly and extremely knowledge. All staff were easy to approach and were eager to answer questions or find the answer if they didn't know. The boat is spacious, well maintained and easy to move around. There were multiple areas for people to sit (inside and out) giving you lots of options. I really enjoyed my tour getting to see loads of dolphins and marine birds. I would certainly recommend this company and tour.

It was a great experience and the guides were really great. Unfortunately, it was a very long drive to the location of the dolphins and then only a short time with the dolphins. And you always got wet on the ride, no matter where you were. There was a small interior space, but it wasn't enough for many people. Ind for the long drive there were very few seats in the dry. But the guides were fantastic, told a lot and answered every question. Definitely worth it, just pack a rain jacket because it gets wet.
