If you are in Nashville you got to experience this unigue and wonderful museum. This museum has curated the history of African American music in a beautiful way. I grew up in the 60's when music told the story of the black experiences. I could have literally spent hours at the musuem reflecting back on those years. I thank the many individuals who has built something very special for all races and all cultures to experience. Jerry Gillespie, Chicago IL.

We had such a blast! The museum is stunning — it has such a detailed and interactive experience laid out. My wife, 1 year old daughter and myself visited the museum on our recent trip. We loved the rap booth! We had a live rap battle, freestyle session and it was all recorded! There’s just so much rich musical history; the story of Africans in America told from the rhythms, melodies and texture of our dancing. What an amazing and sacred place! We have to return to take it all in. Gospel, Blues, Country, yeah that was us too, Soul, R&B, HipHop, and so Bluegrass, Folk…the list goes on. Please, please, please make a trip to the National Museum of African American History!

I could have spent an entire day in each room of the museum. I especially enjoyed the interactive feature which allowed visitors to listen to an an endless number of artists, with the option to download the music for future listening. The accompanying historical presentations were very comprehensive and gave a well deserved appreciation of the African American's contributions, innovation and creativity to American music. (And, everyone in the room stopped in their tracks to enjoy Prince!)
