We had a great day on Rottnest Island. We arrived at 7.30am but the bike hire wasn’t open until 8.30am. We were a little disappointed about that as we wanted to make the most of our day. It was all good though, gave us time for breakfast & coffee. The bike riding was a little tough for 3 out of 5 of us. I would consider hiring an e-bike if you aren’t fit and do a lot of exercise. Some of the hills were a killer and we had to hop off and walk. Very enjoyable views on the way around the island, so we definitely enjoyed the bike riding experience overall.

Prompt delivery of tickets from Sealink ferries. Clear instructions on how to get to the ferry terminal. Easy boarding. Quick crossing. Collect bikes from prepaid queue. Very easy to get around the island on the bikes. Bought snacks at the settlement village. Followed the cycle paths easily to various beaches. Lovely sandy beaches with clear water. Quokka are very cute. Return trip on ferry equally pleasant If possible would request later return ferry. This trip is 9am ferry out and 4pm ferry back.

Good package - bike hire and ferry return. Please make it clear that travellers have to print off boarding pass not just show e ticket. They wouldn’t let me on with an iPhone e ticket and made me run back to the ticketin office to get a boarding pass. We had five minutes to spare because of parking which is also not signposted.
