Full description
After meeting your guide at the Tourist Information Center in the city center of Lucca, discover the city and its main sights and monuments. With your professional licensed guide, explore the downtown area for 2 hours.   Among other sites, visit the Church of San Michele, an incredibly detailed Roman Catholic basilica that was built as early as 795. Admire its 4 meter-tall statue of the Archangel Michael, the church’s patron saint. Enter the church free of charge and view its simpler, but still imposing interior architecture. You’ll also take a stroll on the city’s 16th century walls, a lovely place to walk among the greenery of the edge of the old town.     The tour ends at Lucca Cathedral, a splendid Roman Catholic church with a beautiful façade. If you’d like to continue on the tour with your guide, simply pay the small entrance fee and your guide will show you the interior and continue to share their knowledge. If not, your tour is finished and you can relax in a café with a drink at your leisure or continue to explore the city.

A very good value for money walking tour of the old city. It's just over 2 hours from start to finish and quite comprehensive. On the downside, our tour was in two languages, Italian & English and had the tour been in one or other language, the tour could probably be condensed into one and a half hours.......consequently, while the guide was speaking in Italian, in my case, there was a lot of standing around twiddling my thumbs!

We booked the tour online and made our way to the meeting point where our guides were waiting for us. The check in was simple and the tour soon got under way. Our guide, Lucia was great full of little snippets of information which she delivered with an obvious affection for the city of her birth. We would recommend this tour to anyone who has just arrived in Lucca as it’s a a great a way to get to know the main attractions and to find your bearings so you can further explore during the rest of your stay. We felt very lucky to have Lucia as our guide. Thanks so much.

Very interesting tour with Victoria, a Lucca local, with lots of historic knowledge and humor. She nicely balanced giving the tour in English and Italian. It was also nice to have the opportunity to go in the Cathedral with her at the end of the tour.
