The route was excellent and the buses came frequently. The drivers were friendly and experts at squeezing in narrow spaces. The commentary was clear and informative. Not very busy on a Friday. The only problem was that I pre-booked the tickets online but realised afterwards that we would only be able to exchange our printed voucher for valid tickets at the main train station, which was not convenient. Booking online does not give you any advantage and if you had to cancel shortly before the trip, you would lose your money.
Traffic in Oxford is pretty dire, disrupting the hop on hop off bus timetable. This meant some waiting and for some, changing buses. I can imagine that due to the traffic and delays, the whole tour, with getting off and on would take a long time. But we wanted to do one circuit, and not get off. The commentary was great, and the tour itself excellent, taking in all the main sights. Excellent value too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Covid compliant too.
Our guide, Peter, was very informative about the Palace and its history and manged the tour in a very professional manner. In particular, the transport and ticketing arrangements were well organised. He has a very sociable manner and readily responded to questions relating to the Palace and to other aspects of Oxford and its history.
Really convenient and informative way to get to know the city. Drivers were good, buses spray cleaned every hour. Social distancing observed. Very frequent service and we were lucky not very busy .
Frequent buses that are clean and fairly comfortable. Liked the optional commentary. Possibly a couple of photographic stops would have been good and there is no co trip if the weather.
