Christmastime 1944. The Battle of the Bulge was the last major Nazi offensive. Hitler hoped to split the Allied forces by launching a surprise attack. 140,000 soldiers and infantry forces were killed or captured. During the 100 miles drive to the battle area your guide introduces the events that led to the battle. Your tour starts at one of the American Cemeteries where thousands of US military lay rest. Then visit the McAuliffe Square in Bastogne, known for its significant role in the Battle of the Bulge. See the bronze statue of General Anthony McAuliffe alongside an M3 Sherman Battle Tank. Visit the Bastogne War Museum, followed by a leisurely stroll through the old city of Luxembourg. See the city's cathedral, and the Palace of the Grand Duke. In the lower part of the city you will see the Abbey of Neunmünster, the city walls, and the picturesque sites along the river Alzette.
